A very sexy wolf-temptor in the performance of a Russian dancer A girl nicknamed Red Riding Hood (Christina Ricci) appears here, in my understanding, a Nabokov nymphet with a flirty look. Christina Ricci is the owner of an unusually dolled facial features and especially the huge eyes of the siren. Equally wide, expressive eyes endowed only one actress – Emma Stone. And in the 1990s, only Christina could boast of such a look of the angel of sin. Therefore, I understand the choice of her candidacy for the title role of this short. Without her participation, this version would remain absolutely faceless, and no claims to involvement (direct or indirect) in expressionist cinema would not make the picture stand out from among other adaptations of the fairy tale about a girl in a red chaperone.
"Wolf" performed by Russian dancer Timur Burtasenkov turned out to be a very hot, seductive monster. It is frightening and fascinating at once. It turned out a very memorable image, Burtasenkov is an unusually sexy man. I am sad that his career in Hollywood ended on this film, even almost without really starting.
The film is monochrome, the creators did not dare to give color at least to the cape of the main character. Although still camera work is at its best, especially when it comes to the frivolous look of Red Riding Hood. In appearance modest and innocent, the Red Rider gives his wide-open eyes such an indescribable amount of flirtation, one-hundredth of which can not convey even actresses playing the role of femme fatale.
As for the musical accompaniment of this tape, there is nothing special about it. Of the scenery, there is only the grandmother’s house, whose emphasized convention played in favor of the atmosphere of the film. The promiscuous subtext here comes through from all the cracks, but some rude vulgarity can not be found here. All eroticism here consists only in the views, excellent plasticity of the anthropomorphic wolf and his claws, making a movement down from the lower lip to the chin of the title heroine of the film.
