The film that I bought for 53 rubles In search of something cheap, simple and not straining the brain, I came across this instance. Typical cool cover from Lizard, Wood Entertainment on the back. The guys from Wood rivet such a cool consumer that if you spit on the quality of all sorts of TV-3sh movies, then it is better not even to go here. Shooting on a mobile phone, terrible acting, sagging script, but quite good ideas. It seems that if such ideas were given to a team of professionals, then there would be an extremely useful product. I would advise producers of big govbusters to pay attention to such films, rather than riveting remakes of the Fantastic Four and releasing different horror films with the same script.
So, here we have the mystical horror Doug Evans and Michael Hawkins-Bugros"Nightmare Premonition". It is curious that KinoPoisk, apparently, confused the original title with the eponymous TV horror of 2013, as this film is called quite funny - "The Oak Hill Picture Show". It's written on the CD, it's written in the credits. The Oak Hill is the company that made the film.
From the very first frames of this video, we plunge into the world of amateur photography for as much as 88 minutes, but after a couple of minutes, it becomes familiar to watch this. The plot of the film develops rapidly - the main character is able to see the death of other people in a dream. As she was collecting a pack of dreams about her former classmates, she decided to pity the kids, gather them all in one house, and tell them everything. But as soon as the guys get together, various unpleasant details begin to be revealed.
Yes, the logic in the film did not sleep. The actors are terrible, but what do we want from an amateur production? In my opinion, the producers of the film (hahah, producers) simply forced to make sure that there were more logical holes and unreasonable actions of the characters in the movie. Otherwise, I cannot explain how the writers came up with such a plot and flavored it with a pile of rash actions. Yes, it is a horror story, but the actions here are stupider than “let’s read this book and call the dead for fun.”
What I liked the most was that at one point I didn’t understand why the main plot was suddenly interrupted by some other dudes with their own plot. It was only after the first such insertion that I realized that this was a visualization of a dream with the death of one of the characters. Dreams can last for 15-20 minutes and there will be three, that is, the main plot is exactly half of the entire show. They are played cool and atmospheric, in some places deliberately stupid, but still fun. Especially gloomy last, at some point I realized that I was watching some really terrible horror movie from the 80s.
In conclusion, the film is not for everyone. Anyone who understands what a cheap horror movie is not for showing in a theater can safely watch. Fans of remakes of classics from Michael Bay the film is not recommended.
Thank you very much.
