Maybe it's just not your time. A beautiful, romantic film with a slightly magical atmosphere. Interesting story, with elements of thriller and mysticism Undeservedly bypassed our TV - clearly would have found his audience. . .
Michael and Jenny look like the perfect American couple: he is a college teacher, she is a beautiful housewife. But it turns out that not so long ago he cheated on her with a student. For our days, the situation seems banal, but Jenny lives with some “old-fashioned” concepts and deep down can not forgive him. The husband now goes out of his way to get back his former love, and agrees to buy an old mansion far beyond the city. In it, Jenny discovers a mysterious abandoned attic, reminiscent of the artist’s studio, where an old white dress hangs on a tailor’s dummy, which fascinates her ... and, it seems, not only in a figurative sense: when she puts it on, strange things begin to happen – and she no longer understands where reality is in the present or distant past. . .
Beautiful, kind and bright fairy tale - although sometimes sad. Basically, the film is about love, but there are sharp moments, jealousy, cunning, resentment, conflicts. . .
They play well, in the best traditions - this and
“A man who is a man of repentance” (Alan Feinstein)
and spectacular "artist" (Mark Singer) - who will break more than one heart of the audience, probably;
And of course, Jenny Logan (Lindsay Wagner). . .
Secondary characters also look organic – all in their places. And I do not know what kind of callousness of heart will be able to resist the look of the good old Napoleon.
Very beautiful music in the film – especially the one that accompanies moving into the past. . .
As with any time travel movie, inconsistencies are inevitable, but the beautiful plot and music all brighten up. . .
In my opinion, this is one of the “lost pearls” of cinema of the past years (already so far...) and is worth admiring.
