We are Hungarians and we want to go to Europe. The last feature film about the adventures of a brave Hungarian policeman nicknamed “Drip”. Unlike the previous three films, this action comedy never made it to the Soviet big screen. The reason for this is the collapse of the USSR.
The film is interesting not only with the detective story and jokes from the Kardosh-Drip tandem. It is also a historical essay about Hungary, which abandoned the socialist path and took a course towards Europe.
The Hungarian police cuts. Kardosh still works, but is more concerned with buying a blue suit for his wife in Greece. Dripelka was fired from service for hitting an official who nationalized his family restaurant and now doesn't want to return it to the hereditary owner. By the way, this is a real fact of the Istvan Buitor family: a restaurant, not a fight. Persecuted by the former sweets, the small merchant Purtz opened his own company and now sells the remaining guns and tanks from the Soviet partners. Squares have stopped in open clothing markets, foreign cars are scurrying everywhere, charitable societies launder money, beauty with immense breasts is in fashion. And the criminals invented an intricate scheme to distribute drugs from Greece to Germany through Hungary, which Kardosh will have to deal with. But what is it without the help of a drop?
The film was shot on the "Bujtor film", which also became a sign of the time. Like the phrase repeatedly repeated by Major Kardosh: "We are Hungarians, and we want to go to Europe."
There were three more TV films about Kapelka: in 2001, 2002 and 2008. But finding them won't be easy. And who knows Hungarian? Istvan Buitor passed away on September 25, 2009.
