The best thing about this series - the opening words to each series on behalf of the main character - perfectly convey the features of the era! And, of course, the soundtrack!
A good branching cranberry, holding on to the idea of a happy end
I would like to note at once that the most authentic characters of the series seemed to me the father of the main character and his nerd friend, but unfortunately only these heroes were shifted all the mythological and ideological paraphernalia of the era - this decision plays a big role in the perception of the atmosphere of the episodes.
What the creative group did, for sure, was stir up a sense of aching nostalgia for an era in which many did not live. Yes, well done – carved from any base of Russian film production pearl, which on the impact on the viewer can be compared with Stranger Things.
The main anchors of the series, which will not leave you indifferent:
1) Absolutely Succubian attraction of Natalia Zemtsova
2) Memorable Demonic Laughter by Julia Sules
(3) Funny Olenism (well, you understand) the main character
(4) Just a golden character of Roman Fomin
(5) Normal packaging - from music to introductory openings
(6) The absence of terrible blunders, everything looks natural
And now imagine that after watching the whole series Friends and putting an end to all the lines, the director reports that there will be another 2 seasons with far-fetched problems and their solution - this is exactly the kind of murder of the series happened after season 4, when it should have ended according to the logic of the narrative. And certain events of the penultimate series can be safely dragged to the two-stroke final. And everyone would be happy! It would have been a great base for a sequel, but it turned out 4 seasons and 2 sketch collections. Keep that in mind as you watch and bravely throw on the final episode of Season 4.
From now on, I have a number of questions for the script and casting and the main question is, of course, Inga.
1) Why does the character of the heroine change so much and why do we not show this break point and changes? (yes, even her eyes glaze at some point)
2) How is she different from Tanya in a global sense and why is her character, her inner world not revealed?
Actresses Zemtsova very much in the first seasons, but very much is not the case. You wanted to show her off as a dummy? It didn't work! Was it a matter of intrigue? It didn't work out. And the other heroes were given little time.
Alexander Yakin looks great in the frame, but his progress as a person also leaves questions (season 5-6). At some point, even Makar as an interesting hero bypasses him, which looks quite funny, given the unspoken second diagnosis of a smart programmer.
A very good actor Efremov played exactly who he should have. I don’t even know how to give more importance to the absolutely standard triangle of relationships – all the chemistry is read from the first frames and frightens with its predictability. It is much more exciting to see in this scheme new faces from Anna Tsukanova-Kott and Egor Koreshkova, here is the intrigue, just good and twitches. But a couple of friends of the inner circle Sergey and Masha is an extreme level of poverty of images, stamping from the first to the last frame of the film.
Perhaps the last actress I would like to mention is Anna Nevskaya. Oh, my God, but this is the perfect hit in the type of All-Union Milfa and Stifler's mom for the Komsomol. Extremely surprised that her spectacular appearance in history was reduced to a mediocre role of the second plan - with this type of tiers, you could wind up much more.
Let me just say that this is one of my favorite series. It is worthy of attention even if you do not like TV series on Soviet themes. I immediately fell in love with this series. There are many reasons why you can love him.
Humor in the series is one of his strengths. The writers have shown how to joke about the Soviet Union. And it is the humor on this topic that makes the series very original, unlike other comedy series. I don’t mind making jokes below the waist, but I don’t think the Eighties would do that. I don’t remember exactly what jokes were in the show, but I don’t think there was much dirty humor. That's right. There should be good humor in these series. And he was there. He laughed, which means that the humorous part of the series claims can not be.
The cast was well selected. It is very difficult to single out one person, because everyone coped with their roles properly. Alexander Yakin was able to prove that he could play the role of not only Roma Bukin, but also a Soviet student. And I will tell you that it is not for nothing that the main role in the Eighties went to him. He was able to reliably show all the feelings and emotions that his character experiences throughout the series. You believe him and that’s what matters.
There are many memorable heroes in the series. For example, Vani's friends: Sergey and Borya. And the father of Vanya, played by Alexander Polovtsev, left his mark in memory. Even the secondary characters were quite memorable.
I also want to mention the musical accompaniment. Many hits of domestic and foreign pop of the 80s sound in this series. And when you hear these songs on the heart it becomes warm.
The series turned out to be sincere, kind, bright, clean. A love story in the Eighties should not leave anyone indifferent. This kind of love doesn’t happen often.
It was their youth. That was their 80s.
10 out of 10
Amazing product for television - mezzanine in many houses are filled with props, nearby preserved Minsk and the Russian hinterland, people still like to go to discos of the 80s. You could shoot a great series, but managed it only halfway.
Activity
No questions to the heroines Natalia Zemtsova, Anna Kott, Natalia Skomorokhova - a magnificent three of a foreign dream girl, a conqueror of Moscow and a daughter-accident reveals to us the character of the protagonist better than anything else in the series.
Separate hello Arina Postnikova - to pick up a series about the 80s so atypical for the era template Hollywood beauty it was necessary to try very hard. In the frame, she looks like a girl from the late 2000s, on close plans, the highlighter just falls into the eyes of the viewer, who are not yet used to whitened teeth. I do not believe any of her appearance in the frame do not believe, it is not a symbol of the approaching 90s, it is a heroine from a time machine. The character is added to the series for “fat” and this is obvious from the second episode of its season, but more about that later.
Many thanks to the main film-grandmother of the country Galina Stakhanova - her appearance in the series very drawn out some moments of script failure.
Natalia Zemtsova is very good in the first seasons, ideally presented the viewer with golden youth as a class and nomenclature as a phenomenon. Children of difficult people today love the Motherland at a distance and set priorities for the “owls”.
Some directorial decisions on actors are not just stumped, they are pretty annoying. And here it is worth turning to male heroes. Where did you see the jovial KGBman?
This shirt guy is a jock and a joker, dressed as a middle manager. Has the director ever spoken to a curator, a security official? If so, why does a KGB officer suddenly play Stychkin?
The most battered thing that comes to mind is that the role of such heroes should be called Madianov, Baluev, Garmash... Hipster from the KGB was the first bell.
Roman Fomin - the highlight of the series, very sorry that he was assigned the role of the second plan. His character to the 80s has more to do with the advanced Sergey and Ivan "Forest Gump" Smirnov. Luzlov and gegs from this Kspshnik-Bamovets-naturalist could be pulled out several times more and this made it possible to feel the era.
Is Ivan Smirnov really a hero of the 80s? Twice gave up the dream and struggle — the same Komsomol member, which is worth looking up to? No, really, his strategy is "to steer somehow." He is honest and cherishes friendship - there is no dispute, but he should be called to the desk for betrayal of the Dream. What is this omega-omega / mother’s joy and why does he mumble, and I am ashamed?
Ivan’s family is so caricatured and uninteresting that the scenes with their petty-bourgeois concerns after the second season simply rewinded. Too much tragedy writers laid on the second part of the series in the relationship of father and mother – absolutely does not help to see the 80s, the usual serial gum He-She.
Soundtrack
It was perfect for the first half of the series. I was very pleased with some musical discoveries. And at the same time, the reliability is sometimes very small or the theme of music is not disclosed. Music is the main achievement of the 80s for the whole world, music finally broke the back of the Soviet system. So why didn't the director give us Alice in the series? Automatic Satisfiers? Did the Gaza Strip just leave an inscription on the wall? But managed to charge the whole series ska, and the credits put hardcore punk - well, very realistic, aha. And most importantly, without any context - just wanted the director.
Fractured spine of the series
After the famous events with the series began some kind of buffoon. According to historical realities in the country, war, conflicts on the outskirts, a parade of sovereignty, a commodity shortage. What the director shows us is a happy utopia without any problems. Everyone has a lot of opportunities to cut down money, no problem filling the refrigerator, the only problem in the country is the love gum of relationships. How sick of that lie. The series accurately conveys the atmosphere of the 80s only shadowy censorship. Where did Comrade Tikhonovich go with his nuance in the biography - why did this topic collapse? How did Inga get a student ticket so cleverly? Is Galdin a citizen of the world? Why is he not afraid to fall into the USSR?
There are more questions than answers, but the main question is why season 5-6 was needed. The references to the series no longer mattered, we show ordinary Russia - from the 80s there is nothing. The last season is like a set of sketches - almost a parody of Forest Gump with its references to known historical facts.
But the cherry on the cake is, of course, the finale of all the storylines. It seems that everyone suddenly wanted to go on vacation and production just turned away – this emotionless and predictable wiring for a happy ending and a one-second solution to all problems looks so ridiculous and attractive. Well, not a single pitfall, the hero even has time to drink beer with his father at a time when his fate depends on every minute.
Just imagine you’re following a typical nerdy romantic like Ross Geller for season 9... and in season 10, Ross just decides to have a couple of episodes... In Russia, everything is possible, even spoil a perfectly begun series.
If the first three seasons of the hero still wanted to empathize, the last convince – he is not worthy of anything. No muse fell from the sky, no Decembrist wife, no dream job.
PS Roman Fomin & Natalia Zemtsova & Anna Kott - guys, you are the best.
This is probably the best thing that has happened to STC sitcoms (and all Russian sitcoms in general). This is not an adaptation of the American and not even a scroll from numerous Russian youth series; first of all, it is really an original, surprisingly kind and native story, unfolding against the background of the last Soviet years.
Events of the series start on the last day of the summer of 1986 - a kind of Soviet timelessness, when ' stagnant & #39; the times have already ended, but life by inertia remained stable and relatively prosperous, and before the start of late perestroika hardcore remained two or three years. Ivan Smirnov (now exactly the former Gena Bukin Alexander Yakin) lives the life of a respectable Soviet young man - lives in his parents' apartment, is fond of photography, goes to college and generally differs little from millions of his peers. Nevertheless, Ivan, like Forrest Gump, regularly gets into all sorts of stories with unpredictable consequences, gets acquainted with very different people of his era and tries to understand his feelings for a bunch of completely different girls that pour on him like a horn of abundance.
In addition to Ivan and his girls, the atmosphere is created by his kind and slightly naive relatives, friends - Major Seryoga and slightly crazy Borya, infinitely mocking the Soviet order Galdin, caricature Komsomol Masha, Komsomol perestroika generation Stas and many others. However, the main characters of 'Eighties' are not people. The main characters of the series are those that smell of the wind of change in the eighties: they sound music from the opening screensaver to the final credits, they hang on the walls of apartments with cute carpets, sound strict voices from radios and televisions; they are dressed for the characters of the series, surround them and closely follow their every step. Perhaps the creators still overdid the cult of Lenin (already weakened by that time), but small blunders do not spoil the overall impression.
Now a little sad.
Alas, the authors could not keep the highest level throughout the hundred-plus series. If seasons 1 and 2 are great, and seasons 3 and 4 are just good, then seasons 5 and 6 were definitely redundant.
They have too many superfluous people from the following ' dashing nineties', the characters of many characters have not changed for the better. Vanya himself was still as desperately stupid and rushing as he was at the beginning, but it did not look so funny at all. In this final third, the worst happened - the series lost the very cozy lamp atmosphere for which it was loved. Moreover, the final 6th season was a typical soap opera with a love quadrangle, where almost nothing resembled the eighties.
Despite the somewhat blurred ending, the series left the best impressions. 'Eighties' definitely worth watching, and the first two seasons can even be revisited - it's really cool. A real monument to the era.
Standard feature, presented the series as a kind and positive fairy tale, for nostalgic for the USSR. And in fact, removed vomiting anti-Soviet, according to Yeltsin patterns.
The creators of the series, in the forms accessible to the broad youth masses, vulgarize and distort the life of Soviet people. Yes, the achievements of the USSR are mentioned in passing, but it is only casually and in such a way that people do not have pride in the country. But they constantly paint everyday life, inflating the problems that, if you think about it, were not so great. Well, there was a deficit (which is exaggerated in the series), he became especially acute just under Gorbachev, as a result of his insane reforms. But the series makes it clear that this has been the case before, which is a lie. Without speaking directly, gradually, the viewer is led to the idea that life in the USSR was bad, that no one believed in communism, that everyone only dreamed of dumping it on the West, where the air is cleaner and the grass is greener. Why then, on March 17, 1991, did the overwhelming majority of Soviet citizens vote to preserve the USSR? Why is it that liberals are gaining a percentage close to statistical error in elections, while communists are consistently in second place? And why, the darkness is dark.
And the answer is simple, as liberals did not try, the people have not forgotten the achievements of the Soviet era. People remember the victory in the Great Patriotic War, and industrialization, and Gagarin, and sports, and the status of a superpower in our Motherland, and finally social benefits, in the form of free education, medicine and other things.
People are reminded of the 90s. People remember the collapse of the country, namely the loss of a quarter of the territory and half of the population, and defaults going one after another, and the shameful Khasavyurt peace (and in other republics, how much blood is still pouring, at least take Ukraine), and the shooting of parliament by Yeltsin-liberal forces, and rampant gang, and academics earning privately, and our girls, like Inga from the series, selling their bodies on the streets of Paris. But the older generation remembers all this, and this series is watched by young people, looks and believes in unimaginable nonsense and covered with half-truth noodles, which are generously driven into her consciousness, not burdened with life experience.
Approaching the end of the review, I want to say that this series is harmful and not even anti-Soviet, but the form in which it is served. The series, hiding behind the Soviet wrapper (songs, words about serene youth and other cranberries), deceives a person. He doesn’t let him know what’s inside, which is made up of worn-out cliches, reverence for the West, and disregard for his country and history.
In France, the standard of living was higher than in the USSR. But now that proportion has changed. Yes, living standards have risen in Moscow, but Russia is not just Moscow. It's been a quarter of a century. Without the collapse of the Soviet Union, we would be better off. And in the end, if you look at the history of France, just at the map of this world colonial empire, at least in the early 60s and compare it with what it is now, it becomes clear that it is foolish to focus on it and that the decline of Europe is not an empty sound. France lost in the 20th century, far more than our country. We defeated Nazism and France surrendered and declared Paris an open city. Naturally, fighting for freedom, in the meat grinders of the 20th century, we could not be on an equal footing, in terms of living standards, with the same France, almost not ravaged by World War II, or the United States, whose territory did not trample the invader’s foot at all, and which rose perfectly in the World Wars.
But all this and much more young people do not understand and do not know, imbued with malicious serials, in the spirit of the 80s, where directors with screenwriters, sympathize with cynical pseudo-heroes, tearing the chains of the allegedly rotten regime. And although all this is a lie and slander, on the older generation and Soviet reality, who cares, as they say, peeple scoops.
At zero, it was difficult to treat Russian TV series well. We all remember the endless “epopies”, quickly filmed in four walls, and having a hundred or two episodes per season. But in the 2010s, the situation began to slowly change, and when it came to the “first Soviet sitcom”, the writers and the STS channel realized that this time they would have to try. And we tried.
There is no behind-the-scenes laughter in this sitcom, and shooting one episode really lasted a whole week. Unlike most Russian TV series, "Eighties" is not an adaptation, although a couple of American sitcoms were inspired by the creators, the manner of narration resembles the series "How I Met Your Mother", and the concept itself is close to "The 70s Show". Oh, come on.
The plot is not original, and the sitcom genre itself involves a large number of clichés. The main character is a kind and conscientious student who is used to doing everything correctly and within the law. Of course, there is a fatal beauty with a rebellious character, and a friend with a personality between a playboy and an economist, as well as a young programmer (who in the 90s would have wound up a zabugor) and many other interesting personalities that are well revealed in several seasons, which now we will run.
In the first two seasons we have a chamber story with a weak connection between the series, but the main intrigue is and all its sagging compensates for the desired atmosphere.
In the third and fourth, the creators changed course, draining the main storyline, then for some reason to return sharply to it. And although it is still interesting to watch the foreign trips, cheerful sex life, video salon and students of the main character, it is believed that everything is too fantastic.
In the fifth season, all this went away, adding stories of chamberliness, and suddenly, melodramatic, but thanks to the introduction of a new and really good passion of the main character, the season develops well and powerfully ends.
The sixth and final season, shortened by almost half of the series, came out quite controversial, the events are not really dense, and the length of even 13 episodes was achieved only thanks to “off-the-scenes” episodes about currency fraud and brothers in raspberry jackets. And if this season was less than twice and was spoiled with the fifth, no one would say a bad word. The final series of surprises did not bring much, but the story is wildly banal, only at the same time warm, lamp, not having the gloss and glamour for which most modern products are condemned.
After all, in the main role in the Eighties, not the actors, but the atmosphere, all these Soviet apartments, scarce clothes, orange filters in the picture and the soundtrack as if from tapes of those years, the transition of the Soviet Union into a new era and its throwing between capitalism and socialism, compared with the love throwing of students and their path to adulthood, well, where else will we bloody see this?
A nostalgia film about the bright past, about the times of universal communism and socialism, about the times of the world superpower of the USSR, about the times when everyone was the same and cheerful, as well as about the impending wind of change, about the new trends of the new era of the coming capitalism.
I liked in the series:
1. Initial documentary inserts of the era of the USSR and comments on them;
2. Musical and song accompaniment of the series;
3. Recreated realistic surroundings of that past great era (from the situation in the apartment, hostel, clothes, and ending with the behavior and thinking of people);
4. Selection of actors for the main roles: Ivan and his family, Sergei, Bori, Katya, Masha, Inga, Galdin, Stas and others.
Each of them has its own bright role, for example: Ivan is an honest, decent, “right” guy; his friend Sergey is an enterprising young man, a womanizer by nature, an inventor and sometimes a deceiver; Borya is a kind of abstruse merry man and a good soul man; Inga is a seductive beauty, a representative of a new generation; Katya is a good, decent, family, kind girl; Masha - to the brain of the bones of the Komsomol, a superresponsible and honest girl; Stas is a bright representative of the leader of a certain cell of society; Galdin is an informal, rockman, singer, with a kind of mocking and degrading sense of humor, the look reminds me of V. Mashkov (hard steel male look); the Smirnov family is also unique, all have their own peculiar characters.
5. A good, smart sense of humor.
Minuses series:
The first and second seasons turned out bright, then the series slowly began to slide down. The creators need to move on, and not fixate on the 80s, show the further fate of the heroes in the 90s, 2000s, “age” the heroes. And it turns out that in each season, as if every hero’s life begins to improve, they achieve something, then suddenly there are some mistakes, negative external factors affect, the characters begin to frankly dull, they have to constantly overcome some difficulties.
The main character of Vanya as a Russian "vanka" constantly solves some confusion and nonsense, constantly gets into some troubles. So many events (as many as five seasons!) and all in the three or four years of the eighties - too much! Maybe it's time to stop. There were a lot of interesting things in the 90s. And then the heroes will soon turn gray, and everyone plays students-practices, assistants.
10 out of 10
I am not a member of the Old Guard and I am only 19 years old. On the Internet there are rumors about the incompetence of our national cinema. Well, I agreed with that before I happened to see the Eighties series.
Having gathered my strength and dealt with things (with laziness in the first place), I decided to start watching this series from the very beginning. And after a couple of episodes, I realized it was a series for me. Despite the fact that I missed this time, called the “eighties”, I was imbued not only with this time, but also with the history, the leitmotif, so to speak, of our domestic series.
I watched it for a few days, including Igor Kornelyuk, who for me used to be a singer of one song (the City that does not exist), for which, surprisingly, I did not get caught up.
I mean, I really enjoyed watching my peers have fun, grow up, befriend and love at the time. And my parents were very happy, too: they would go into the room sometimes, smile at the pioneers, Lenin, and remember their youth, their eighties.
To begin with, I love this period of time, the 80s. Starting with music and ending with the way of life that our parents lived, without falsehood and vulgarity, people were somehow more human and kind, and children were brought up on Soviet cartoons and films. So when I saw the CTC commercial, I immediately decided to watch this series. My expectations were not met and now I will tell you why.
First, the cast did not please, but disappointed. Take at least the main character, Vanya Smirnov, he goes the whole series some puzzled and says the words as if behind the scenes there is a guard with a wicker and threatens him with reprisals. His friend, Sergey, on the contrary, is terribly overplaying. Looks like he's about to jump out of his pants. Sergey’s girlfriend, Masha, always with gray eyes and a dissatisfied face. The dream of the main character, the girl Ing, is so dry on emotions that it is just darkness. It is not clear what he found in her, because this girl has no charisma and looks average, and according to the script she is beautiful. Vanya's parents were also not impressed, even though their actors with experience play. I can only single out Anna Tsukanova. You believe her, although her game is exactly the same as in Yeralash. All the actors chose one image for themselves and did not leave it throughout the series. I liked that some of the faces were new, which I had never seen before.
Second story. The writers were not joking. Vanya reminds me of the hero of Tom Hanks in the movie “Forrest Gump”, he also did nothing, but different somehow magically got into different troubles.
In the 80s, there is only music in the series. I didn’t feel the spirit of the 80s in the scenery, in the style, in the characters. It looks more like this.
The film is about my peers: 1986 - second year. How can you miss a series like this?
“The mice cried, pricked, but continued to eat the cactus.”
This is what I think of as a cactus.
Light humor, great actors, quite a life story... but! But, again, this is a film about my years. And I remember too, too well what year it was and how. Inaccuracies and inconsistencies cause literally an explosion of the brain.
Too much Komsomol-Party pathos, some things are far-fetched - plus or minus a decade... A lot of bewilderment is caused by “adults” (it was simpler!) The 80s and 60s are two big differences!
But I look! I look forward to a new season every time.
Because the authors managed the main thing: to convey spirit of student youth and attitude to life (so far away already!) of the eighties.
6 out of 10
Perhaps, over time, the assessment will be revised.
I don't think anyone needs to explain what it is for ' sandpaper'.
Exactly! The series ' Eighty' as a kind of wooden workpiece that has passed all stages of processing, except for the final - grinding.
It's not a bad idea. Although in the distance resembles the series ' Everybody hates Chris'.
A lot of marriage. The characters are far from the image of the Soviet man. I sometimes even forget that the action takes place in the 80s. It feels like you're watching a modern series.
Maybe I lived in the wrong region of the Soviet Union, but personally I, the gesture of the middle finger, first saw in the 90s, as well as the word LOKHOSHKA I heard for the first time in ' dashing'. We once more showed 'dull' and 'fig'.
Too many unnecessary phrases, empty chatter, stupid jokes, unreasonably created incomprehensible problems, which the main characters then try to solve throughout the series. It's kind of stretched. But it was possible from 5-6 series to make one, perfect quality. But then the writers would have to work more. It would make less money on advertising.
About acting. None, I don't like it. It feels like neither of them likes his role and plays it at gunpoint. Except that Anna Tsukanova and then not always.
But there's something about this series that makes me watch it for years. Is that what? I don't understand.
Maybe I'm expecting something. And this is ' something' will never begin.
Maybe next season.
I watched the last episode of the fourth (hopefully last!) season a few hours ago. Honestly, even tears came to my eyes. I am writing this as if I were saying goodbye to a friend.
I watched the series in a couple of weeks. It looks like a breath. “I put” him and his friends and girlfriend. You know, if you can turn on a show in the middle and a friend joins you who hasn't watched it before and continues to watch it until five in the morning, it's expensive. This means that it is interesting, it means that it delays.
It is very pleasant that the series about young people suddenly did not become the personification of vulgarity, like many others. All the problems of youth are raised, and love, and friendship, and sex, but they are not described, not rudely, not stupidly. On the contrary! Everything is warm and warm here!
You know what else matters? Until the very end, until the last episode of the fourth season, the series did not drop the bar. To the last it was interesting to watch, to the last empathized and laughed.
Atmosphere
I can’t say anything about the reliability, because of their age, probably, people of the older generation will find a lot of blunders, someone will look contemptuously and gnaw through their teeth “the shit, there was no such thing!” I don't care. We're not watching a chronicle of the eighties, we're watching a sitcom! And forgive me, it does not fit this word, reliably associated with a bunch of stupid TV series with this good movie.
I think that was the case in the eighties. Deficiency, farce, discos, manners, device, everything! It is clear that not everything is so simple, not everything is so beautiful, but in general it was. This is more than enough for the show.
Actors
Every guest actor played well. Just getting to the point. Alexander Yakin I, like everyone else, was associated with his hero from the series "Happy Together", but that series I did not watch, too killed all-consuming stupidity. Therefore, I do not remember that hero much, but here is Vanya Smirnov for a long time. A kind, strong, young man who values friendship and love, ready to help in a difficult moment. A real role model, even in myself I want to find some features of this hero.
Dmitry Belotserkovsky- above all praise! Completely complete comedy image. A crooked woman as he is. Applause for the actor.
Aronov-Polovtsev couples are typical parents. A caring mom and a careless dad. Perfect entry into the role. The hero of Polovtsev managed to cause laughter, then pity, then even irritate when he portrayed Oblomov lying on the couch.
A separate mention deserves Boris-Roman Fomin, a little strange, but damn charming in its simplicity, a nerd student.
And, of course, beautiful girls Zemtsova-Tsukanova-Kott-Skomorokhova. Again, a direct hit in the image. Inga is a typical representative of golden youth, windy and beautiful. Katya is a girl from the province, slightly losing in appearance, wonderfully compensating for everything with care and love. Tanya is a burner of life, a party girl, as if she came out of the picture “Intergirl”.
Excellent actors, very accurately conveyed the characters of their heroes.
Plot
Probably, you should not retell, because you can inadvertently throw a lot of spoilers about the further development of the plot and spoil all the pleasure of watching the series. Although, to be honest, the first episode of this series I saw was from the middle of the fourth season, literally a month ago on TV. There were things I expected. But this did not prevent me from getting a lot of positive emotions.
In short, the plot is built around Vanya Smirnov, students of the Faculty of Economics. At the time of the first season, Vanya was a sophomore. He fell in love with the heroine Zemtsova and turned... Friendship, love, the search for money, the desire to become popular – all mixed. And it's all wrapped up in the warm lamp atmosphere of the eighties.
Rumors
There are rumors that the series will be renewed for a fifth season. And may the fans of the series, who I am, forgive me for the following statement. Gentlemen producers, don't do this! Do not turn this series into a cash cow and make a lot of seasons, trying to suck out of your finger the finished story.
Yeah, guys, the story ends on season four, and it's organic. The trouble with many TV series is that they were not completed in time (the same Supernatural or Escape). The fourth season has to stop. And everyone will have a warm nostalgic feeling. Everyone will remember this series with love and tenderness.
And yes, they are going to launch the series “Nineties”, again a rumor. The series should be a continuation of the “eighties”, but with other characters. Of course, this is also a whole era and, perhaps, events are much richer than the eighties. Is this series going to be just as good? Unlikely.
What is the result?
And in the end all. A great series that is recommended for everyone to watch, regardless of age and social status. Great actors, great performance, great atmosphere of love and the eighties.
I’ve watched, watched and will continue to watch the series.
Due to the date of my birth (1993), I did not see the era called the Eighties. But I have heard about them quite often: bad “scarcity, war in Afghanistan, Chernobyl and lack of freedom” but, where bad, there is also good, unfortunately less good. In my opinion, the creator was perfectly able to find a balance between bad and good, which we managed to see in the film called “Eighties”.
This series is different from the mass of slag that spills from our screens every day. What distinguishes the series "Eighties" from other sitcoms: appropriate humor, minimal eroticism, lack of advertising and a diverse playlist of music of the time. And most importantly, you feel (for the first two seasons) the soul invested in the directors, writers and cast.
Unfortunately, since the third season, the series began to lose ground. Self-repeats, inappropriate heroes and a contrived, literally sucked from the finger love line began to appear.
To sum up. I enjoyed watching the series and look forward to continuing.
I haven't seen the eighties. I would have added - ' luckily', but after watching the series I want to say ' unfortunately.' Today I watched the last episode of the season. It feels like a whole era has passed before my eyes. All the time the main character is young.
The last season was rich in unexpected twists and turns, and the final minutes of the final series perfectly summed up everything we watched over the past two years. I wanted to rethink what I rarely do.
Separately, I would like to highlight Alexander Yakin, the performer of the main role. It turns out to be a very good actor!
Well, Vanya’s parents performed by Maria Aronova and Alexander Polovtsev, of course, turned out to be excellent. Inga, i.e. Natalia Zemtsova, in the first season played, in my opinion, better. But Anna Tsukanova coped with her role perfectly, the position did not give up. And such a character as Boris is above all praise, seriously!
Plus, I would like to note the amazing musical accompaniment, consisting of music of that time. Nice to hear it!
'Eighties' is a unique opportunity to plunge into that era, plus a good mood provided. You’re starting to worry about heroes. And most of the series show what true friendship and love are.
Of course, some flaws and flaws are present. But you don't notice it, or rather, you don't care.
Starting with Season 1, I was looking forward to the next episodes of the series, and despite the fact that I did not live in the 80s, the heroes of the Eighties seemed to me very familiar and interesting people. The series began airing in 2012, but I was hesitant to write a review of the Eighties. And as the series comes to an end, I want to share my thoughts on it.
The heroes of the “Eighties” are bright personalities.
The main character of "Eighties" - Vani is a lot of good friends, and not so good. In each series, Vanya gets into different situations, from which, sometimes it seems that there is no way out, but, as you know, there is always a way out, although sometimes it is difficult, but Ivan manages to get out of awkward situations.
The end of the "Eighties" struck me very much, everything fell into place, although it is a pity for some heroes, and it is a pity that such a beautiful series ended.
The eighties were a time of youth of many people, so this series is loved by many.
In conclusion, I want to say a huge thank you to all those who participated in the creation of the series.
10 out of 10
I have watched a little more than 2 seasons. I cannot help but share my opinion. However, as is often the case, the next season will not be the same. The best comedy-melodramatic series I've ever watched. And this is not only because it was in the mid-80s he studied at the university and everything is easy to remember, but more because the creators of the series managed to put everything exactly in their places.
First of all, thanks to them, they removed almost all the negative aspects, which, of course, also existed at the time. Namely: both for the “farce” and the electrodes stolen from the factory were sent to “places not so remote”, and in the evening it was easy to be in the role of the victim, and on potatoes with locals, everything ended not so with humor (as in the series), etc. But overall, the positive was much more. All, despite the "Gorcom" sons, were generally equal and went to the same discos.
The second is the play of almost all actors without exception. 10 points. Most of them were not even born at that time. Well, the game of Dmitry Belotserkovsky (Sergei Yakovlev) is generally amazing. And in our group there was such a "character."
The third and most pleasant thing is that the “forbidden (at that time) topic” (that is, sex) is played above all praise. Without any vulgarities (as in most American films), without frank scenes writhing at family viewing, with a great sense of humor.
The screensaver and songs of that time are harmoniously combined with frames and individual plots.
Please note that the color and rating of the review is only for the third season and has nothing to do with the previous two.
On March 14, 2013, that is, more than eight months ago, my review for Season 1 came out on the page of the series “The Eighties”. In the review, which you unfortunately do not have the opportunity to see (such rules), I took the series to heaven. There were a lot of flattering words to directors, writers, actors, everyone. There was not a single comment, even though the score was 8.
I also enjoyed the second season. It was almost in no way inferior to the first and you could again admire the skill of the people who work on it. What a great ending, huh? All the dots above I were placed and nothing more was needed.
I was sure that the series had come to an end and it seemed right, logical. But after a while it became clear that there will be a third season. “Okay, great” — I thought at first, but then came a couple of thoughts about it — “And what will happen in the third season?” No, I had no doubt that everything will continue to be interesting, exciting, funny. After all, as I wrote, in the first two seasons, we made sure that the Eighties did not lower the bar.
As it turns out, it reduces ...
With the loss of the main character, Toby Inga, the series lost almost everything. It's weird, after Season 2, I wouldn't say her loss would be that big, even though the whole show was about her. With the arrival of new actors, the series turned into a boring Latin American melodrama. What happens in the eighties can be forgotten. Things that created the atmosphere of that time stopped appearing at all. No, they stopped focusing on them. So naturally, the sitcom has lost its flavor. There is not that charm, that good story in glorious times for heroes.
Many things did not cause delight, attention and even a smile. I will say even more, some things have become terribly annoying. For example, Sergey does not change, his behavior infuriates, he uses people, throws, uses again and throws again. And it would be great if a negative character evoked that kind of emotion, but it's kind of positive. Only his jokes could sometimes be laughed at. But again, I was interested in him. Yeah, yeah, interesting, though annoying. It evoked emotion, which is good. The same goes for Katya, Stas, Masha. All of these characters were carrying a story. They eclipsed the Vani-Yuri-Thani line from the very beginning. Here is a perfect example when secondary characters and their fates eclipse the main thing in the series.
Vanya still falls in love at first sight, and then thinks a hundred times how he feels. What did Tanya and her “daddy” forget in this series? Not interesting characters, lying, two-faced. They have nothing to do here in this story.
Twenty episodes of the third season 50% consist of episodes of the old series, and the remaining 50% in general “just something and shoot, and there everything will be.”
Oh, and there's a fourth season. And you know, you can't even scold actors. Most of them played well too.
I’m going to be watching this series again, I’m going to be watching Season 4, but only thanks to the first two. I recommend you to watch these 32 episodes, you will not regret it. But starting with the 33rd episode, you will begin to change your views in relation to the series, and this can not be done, because initially it is a very cool sitcom. That’s why the first and second seasons are enough to watch, so as not to regret anything further.
The 3rd season did not disappoint, and on the contrary, more and more warmed my interest in the series. Life, ordinary real life (also Soviet people) is fully reflected in the series. And how interesting it was to watch each of the characters of the picture. Here is the Soviet 'playboy' Seryozha and the representative of that ash youth Stas, all the same kind and wonderful Borya. Well, nominally the main character Ivan, such different personalities but so recognizable. Surely, each of us will find in these heroes similar people in his life. And the appearance of Tanya, quite an adequate replacement for Inge. It is a pity that our kind and correct Ivan, again will step on the same rake, their affair with Tanya, initially seemed just a strange coincidence. ' Happy End' it did not work out, but a pity. The guy deserved his loyalty and correct moral principles, a happy ending. Not everyone will let go of their loved one, in order for her to be able to fulfill her dream. And all the same, what is the character shown and how correctly Alexander Yakin conveyed it. And believe him, because before there were such guys and caught often, not that today.
I will not talk about the atmosphere and everything else, the film conveys everything as before. My parents won't let me lie.
So, I was born in the early 90s, became a fan of the series about these last, happy, Soviet 80s.

I never lived in the eighties. The first years of my life were already in the dashing nineties, so I can not judge this series as people of Soviet hardenment. Still, I loved the show.
I believe that mistakes are made in all films and TV series about the past, somewhere more, somewhere less. But the purpose of this series, in my opinion, is not to convey a historical period - there are documentary films for this, or just more serious films - but to show the relationships of people in the background of that time. And the creators of the series managed to convey their complexity, somewhere warmth, and somewhere intrigue.
Everything here looks real: Vanya’s attempts to find true love, which, alas, he is always looking for in the wrong place, the desire of Sergey and Stas everywhere to look for their benefits, not shy to walk on their heads, Masha’s desire to combine a fundamentally honest, inflexible life with the problems falling on her. All this looks interesting, not worn out, but sometimes funny. The actions of some heroes - certainly Vani - sometimes look even instructive.
Vanya simply bribes with his honesty, nobility. You feel high moral principles, good education. From such a guy you do not expect meanness, but only something reasonable.
Sergey and Stas are the exact opposite of him. These two don't know the moral barriers. Sometimes they behave in a way that they think: they finally act like people. They convincingly manage to build themselves as positive heroes. But the right moment comes and their unreliable nature is exposed again.
Girls are all different and interesting. Here and soulful, economical Katya, and responsible (sometimes too) Masha, and selfish, but bright and beautiful Inga, and daring, mysterious, incomprehensible Tanya.
It is also worth noting Boris - the most ridiculous and simple character. It is Borya that is the main humorous load of the series, he throws out the most things that you want to laugh at, and most importantly - he does it spontaneously, not on purpose.
Special thanks to the creators of the "Eighties" I want to say for the season now going on TV - the one where appear Tanya, Yuri Leonidovich and his wife Galina. It's particularly intrigued. From series to series - unpredictable turns of events, so you want to look further and further.

I didn't watch Happy Together, Our Rush. I don't even watch TV shows. "Eighties" attracted the attention of vulgar advertising in the first season. I don’t think I would ever watch this series. But already in the third season, skipping the channels, several times stopped at it - and "ducked." We are probably almost the same age as Fedor Stukov, the director. Therefore, our memories and ideas about that time are approximately the same.
Of course there are. For example, in principle there could not be a First or Second Secretary of the Komsomol Committee. It was just a secretary. There is no need to pedal the whole movie with the word “first”. But by and large, it doesn't matter at all. Much more important are other details, such as “Marxism” and “Engelsism”, the deputies in the order of things, “Caligula” in private video collections. People who made the series remember a lot of details that now seem complete nonsense. Clothing, interiors, situations – all “to the point”. But filmed without evil, without black, easy and sincere. Eighty-seventh was just like that - with video salons, with Lenin on each wall, with rebels like Galdin.
Heroes are all from life. These "Sereg Yakovlev" we had half the Institute.
The actors are all young, seemingly serial, so I can evaluate them only by one role in the Eighties. But Belotserkovsky is an unconditional talent. And, of course, Efremov.
In general, the series is very good, I recommend watching the whole, not in pieces - there is a very coherent narrative from series to series.

I've been paying attention to this sitcom for a long time. Honestly, it’s not even in my own right to write a sitcom in relation to this series. Smells modern. But I won't be distracted. Even though I was not funny, I laughed with such sincere laughter. Humor totally vulgar. This is a rarity these days, unfortunately. But the creators of this series succeeded! When they were in the dark, they could not make jokes below the waist! So the comedy was great. For those of you who love a fun and smart movie, I think you’ll like it. In addition, there is an opportunity not only to laugh, but also to argue. If you weren’t a student in the eighties, you were a student. And here, of course, there is an opportunity to remember youth and see how they lived then, compare.
But this movie is more than just a comedy. It also has dramatic moments. Young, naive, hot, principled and unprincipled. They are friends, love, make mistakes, betray... Yeah, there's that. Human life is shown from different sides. And carefree and serious. All the roles are deeply written and played. For me, this series was a pleasant surprise. They're still really cool! This movie is 10 out of 10. It's been a long time since I've given such ratings to films.
I'm not a big fan of TV shows, but sometimes I watch them. I do not like Russian-made series, except for a few, so I do not review them on Kinopoisk. But the series "Eighties" caused me ambiguous feelings. Why? I don't know, to be honest. He is good, bad, funny, sad. Incomprehensible, simply put.
Of course, it is too early to summarize this film, but I will share my impressions.
What I liked:
1. Plot. To begin with, the series has no precedent. They haven't been taken from us yet. This is not a partial immersion of the hero in the past, but a completely filmed series about the past. The plot here is not standard, that's for sure. It is built on the realities of that time. It’s funny to see heroes in situations that you can’t by definition find yourself in today. This makes the plot of the series original, funny, causes real experiences.
2. Characters Very bright, charming (even negative), they do not stand still, constantly move. Among them there is no simplification, they do not look like modern ones, but they experience the same problems as their modern peers.
3. Music. The hits of that time or close to it are very convenient and harmoniously combined with the plot. Besides, they're just beautiful.
What I didn't like:
I really did not like one thing – only the disadvantages of that time are shown. Just the minuses, and don't tell me there were no pluses, even compared to our day. I put it in the negative, because this approach is very one-sided, it spoils the film. Of course, there should be obstacles in front of heroes, but not every day. From the new series we learn what problems were in the Soviet Union, but do not know what was good. Only a few episodes talk about the positive features or events of that time. And that's sad.

(Inconclusive because the series is not finished.)
Thanks to television, the concept of “domestic television series” is now closely associated with “low-quality” or “second-rate”. Working on the principle of xerox, our “craftsmen” copy foreign TV series, simultaneously destroying colors and their characteristic color, and at the end they get “Doctor Tyrsu” instead of “Doctor House” and “Happy Together” instead of “Married and with Children”. About low-budget detectives and sketches on criminal topics, which are saturated with literally every channel, somehow I do not want to talk. The film company "Lean-M" is responsible for many sins of the serial format (only "Soldiers" and "Students" of which are worth). And, apparently, out of fear of being punished by a celestial television deity, a new title called “The Eighties” was released.
So, in the yard of 1986, the restructuring began, and the Soviet Union has not yet disintegrated. The story is told on behalf of Ivan Smirnov, whose voiceover accompanies each series. As a second-year student, he meets Inga, a classmate from France, and immediately falls in love with her. But here is the dilemma, they have little in common: Inga is a freedom-loving and uninhibited girl “from another world”. Ivan is a simple guy who studies well and lives with his parents according to the canons of Soviet society. They, in turn, are a typical unit of society, kind and open people who prefer stability and eternal values in the form of a television. But the desire to win the heart of Inga prompts Ivan to commit dangerous and reckless acts: for her he arranges apartment buildings, invites her to a rural disco and much more.
That’s the simple principle of love relationships and built the plot in the “Eighties”. If this were the main advantage, the authors would already know all the charms of cinema hell. And so, the series has one feature that distinguishes it from a bunch of other serial crafts - the atmosphere of the eighties, based on the nostalgic feelings of anyone who is not rumored to know about Gorbachev's anti-alcohol performances and queues for sausages. Covered through the prism of the memories of an adult, the events are somewhat controversial, and at times the director goes overboard, exposing, for example, a bust of Lenin as the main symbol of the worship of the then youth. Fortunately, such flaws are exceptional, not natural, and with each series become less noticeable. The slogan “how well everyone lived badly” suggests that this is an ode to the eighties as a whole, as an era, as memories of the past, but not forgotten, time. If you let the older generation make a series about their youth, it would appear in approximately this form.
An important role in the formation of the atmosphere, strange as it may seem, is played by Vanina parents. It is not known what appeared before - the type or manner of performance, but the characters of Alexander Polovtsev and Maria Aronova turned out to be much brighter and more convincing than those of the main actors. And how fascinating to watch their reaction to various then events, like the famous phrase “In the Soviet Union there is no sex”. In general, along with the soundtrack, consisting of compositions, it is clear what time, parents leave the most pleasant impressions.
Whether this is enough for Lean-M to deserve forgiveness for what he did, it is too early to say, because there is one season consisting of twelve episodes. But there's definitely potential. The main question is how the authors will use it. Will they be able to give out quality series without sliding into self-repeats and primitives? Based on the order for the release of forty series within six months, most likely not. But it is, thinking about the abstract and the distant. And in the meantime, it is better to sit down and remember the days of Tsoi, the craze for jeans, electronic watches, and think about how well we lived poorly.
The series should show the “real” truth about the USSR: everything is in short supply, there is no Internet and DVD, toilet paper is more expensive than gold, and only two subjects are taught in institutes – “History of the CPSU” and “Scientific Atheism”. Everything that happens on the screen should cause negative emotions and give an additional reason to worry about the fate of the characters. But that's not true. The characters are atomized and live on their own. Looking at them, you do not believe in friendship, love, or family ties between them. No artistic value this "masterpiece" has. Actors are incredibly bad, and there is no point in dwelling on that. A bold step can be called the invitation of Alexander Yakin for the main role. In his eighth year, he is known as Roma Bukin. The director of the series Fedor Stukov decided not to change anything - so instead of a student Ivan, we again see Roma Bukin. According to the author’s plan, the weakness of the script should be compensated by the unique Soviet entourage. Screenwriters believed that a hyperbolic depiction of the recent past would automatically make the series funny. But that didn't work out. Why? Because the authors did not finish the job. For example, toilet paper could be turned from a scarcity to a delicacy, and make the characters of the series dream of a small socket of this product. So many episodes have passed, and not a single shooting or deportation to Magadan. You could be inspired by the animated series "South Park" and each episode shoot the main character, so that in the next episode he, like Kenny McCormick, resurrected again. Why do characters walk in different and not the same? Why is Yuri Shatunov’s song diluted with other compositions? It would have been funnier if White Roses was the only song ever written. If you're lying, it's big! The show didn’t disappoint, I was expecting it. But this attitude to history is sad. The USSR was the highest point of development of the Russian people throughout its history. And if such films will be released further, it will necessarily turn into a disaster like the sung series “Perestroika”. 2 out of 10 Original
