The main issue in the film is abortion. Young girls come to the hospital and want to get rid of the baby. Alina Rudnitskaya’s film “I Will Forget This Day” consists of two parts. At first, half of the girls sit in the hallway and go into the operating room. Then there are the stories of the heroines about why they decided to have an abortion.
Before the girls enter the operating room, they sit and think about their actions for a long time. The operator does not specifically turn off the camera to catch those emotions and experiences that women experience.
The film proceeds in a certain rhythm of narrative. The feeling of longing and sadness is conveyed not only by the faces of girls, but also by foggy urban landscapes.
It is also possible to note the graphic decision of the film. The whole film is shot statically and in black and white. This further highlights the hopelessness of what is happening on the screen.
The theme of the film will always be relevant. Young girls will always have to choose whether to keep the baby or not. And if they refuse now, then there may be no other possibility.
