Jannick has a whirlwind romance with Madame Clotier The Canadian film Heat Wave tells the story of an adult, newly widowed woman and her relationship with a young man, Yannick. The genre of this wonderful picture is titled as a drama, but it is not quite so. It is a light and life-like tragicomedy where there is a place and sadness, but mostly the authors look at the world with irony and love.
It's about love that picture. The main character, all her life did the right things, devoting herself to work, children, husband. But the dying husband she was caring for admits to her that he had another woman for a long time, and that she was the one he loved. It turns out that everything the heroine lived, her whole life built according to the rules was filled with deception. At this point, 19-year-old Yannick bursts into her life. Unlike the main character, his young life is filled with chaos, and he tries to find something that will give it meaning. Once, having met the heroine, he falls in love with this adult woman and now wants to fill her life with joys. He does not care about all social and social conventions, he likes this woman and wants to be with her.
Giselle, the main character, mentally resists this sudden love, but with all her heart is given to her ... she herself says about it: “It’s ridiculous, you understand that you need to stop, but you can’t ... because it’s great!”
The heroine is a very pleasant woman, and the actress Marie-Theresa Fortin very skillfully conveys to the viewer all the feelings of Giselle. Another decoration of the picture is the actor Francois Arnault, he can convince with one look. Other characters of the picture are also drawn very skillfully, each of them causes sympathy. The sister of the main character, who keeps her secret, oddly enough, does not defy condemnation, because her story in small strokes, but is shown in volume.
It is nice that even when Gisele and Yannick find out their relationship, or the heroine is angry with her lover, she does not cross the line, and does not go into his edification, does not teach life. Despite the big age difference, she accepted it and perceived it as an equal. Like a man in his life.
The picture says, a wonderful thing, "The older you get, the more you need tenderness." And after all, it is true, as adults, people gain experience, learn not to succumb to adversity, and sometimes become callous. They accept the rules of the game and follow the rules. For example, colleague Gisele, who, although echoes the above idea after Yannick, does not understand what an important thing he said.
It seems that all tenderness is left somewhere behind and this is the lot of the young, but in fact, the more a person has experienced, the more consciously he wants love and to be cared for. Whether it is a huge bouquet of flowers, or the desire to fill every day with joy. In many ways, it was another step in the life of the main character, after many years to accept that she deserves the care that she previously gave to the world.
The film is very funny, and really bright.
