To my embarrassment, this is my first movie with Buster Keaton, and the first acquaintance left me no chance to resist or take it cool. A man without a smile, with an incredible career and a tragic fate. His jokes make you laugh even now, in an age of digital technology and teen jokes about sex and drugs. Thinking about why seemingly simple jokes look so easy. Because they are sincere, without any attempts just a story, confusedly told on film. And the absurd plot, about accidentally met on board a drifting ship, lovers fade into the background. On the stage comes expression, unique acting data, a veil that protects the audience from sound. There is nothing superfluous in the picture, here you and comedy and horror, and adventure.
I am once again convinced that silent cinema is a part of the art of cinema, which has disappeared in the abyss of consumerism. All we have to do is honor his memory and learn.

This is my first Keaton, I've heard a lot about him, but I haven't seen anything. Judging from this film, it was criminal negligence.

Navigator, this is the name of the ship, which nasty intruders let drift into the sea, trying to harass their opponents (some grater between the two countries were). They did not suspect that accidentally on the ship there was a millionaire-idle and a girl whose hand he unsuccessfully sought more than once.
It's a good movie. Hundreds of unimaginable gags and humor, tricks and jokes, that no new frame, a new inventive joke. What the main characters are doing is something, there is even a joke where a girl uses Keaton instead of a boat, sits on it and rows with a paddle! When you say it, it seems crazy, but in the film there are many similar, there are classic jokes, like a corridor with doors, here we went further, three decks with stairs, on which the characters pursue each other.
In general, it makes no sense to retell all the numbers of the film, this is a fun, pleasant, good old-fashioned movie, in which you can take a lot of things into service with modern Hollywood comediographers.
I had a good time, it’s a pity that the movie only lasts an hour.

A proposal, a wedding, a honeymoon is an ideal order of such events, which may seem to a mischievous fate so boring that she will want to play with potential spouses.
Director Buster Keaton always found inspiration in the world around him, so once he saw an old ship, he obeyed the call of the soul and acquired it. And then a story was born whose events take place on board. And together with Donald Crisp, he creates a funny melodrama about the fact that nothing brings a guy and a girl closer together than to be alone in the middle of the ocean and together fight for survival.

The main character appears before us spoiled rich man who is used to the fact that all his desires are fulfilled without question. And then he meets a girl brought up in the same way as he, who is independent and knows her own value, and therefore she expects more from the groom than a careless offer of arms and heart. Overshadowed by his defeat, he goes on a honeymoon without her, but fate brings them together on a ship where their relationship gets a second chance. Buster Keaton and Catherine McGuire worked together for the second time, synchronously performing all the stunts and making the audience wonder if the two will survive such a cruise.
Beginning as a melodrama, in this picture, the hilarious comedy soon takes the main place, whose scenes are sometimes brought to hysterical laughter. It seems that Keaton has set himself the goal to use every minute of the film as productively as possible, so the gags here quickly replace each other, not allowing the viewer to relax. The closer to the finale, the crazy and dangerous this story becomes, but the last few seconds should more than pay off all the trials that fell on the fate of the heroes.

Being on a wedding cruise alone on board a ship without a crew is not such a bad omen.
