“Everyone ages, only the wind stays young.” The film has such a beautiful title – “Happiness”, but it is unclear where it is in this film. Each character has so many problems that there is no time to be happy. The life of the main characters of this film at one point does not change for the better.
Meriem was raped, there would be no pity on the girl, relatives decided that she was stained. At first, her stepmother suggested hanging herself, but Meriem did not do it to spite her. Then the eldest uncle of Ali Riza decided that her father should kill her. That's why the lot fell on Jemal. He just returned from the army, where he was in a hot spot, respectively, the psyche is disturbed. So Dzhemal and Meriev took her to Istanbul, where they will find her dead and will not suspect anything, because she is not even registered. She's just gone. It wasn't that easy. On their way, an elderly Irfan met, who has his own yacht and a few months before his death.
The viewer is more shown Jemal, how his inner struggle happens: the father said to kill the girl, but how he can do it. So Jemal forces her to commit suicide. But he can't watch his sister kill herself. Djemal is kind in himself, just brought up too conservative - traditions and customs in his village were the most important thing. The actor who played Jemal had no errors in the performance of the role. The same goes for other actors.
About a very quiet girl. Throughout the film it seemed that she does not remember the past, does not suffer. Only a few things remind me of the horror she endured. What she does not know, and especially no one asks her about it. When Irfan appeared in her life and Jemal’s, she immediately began to perceive him as a father or brother. Dzhemal went and mad, because he was terribly jealous of Meryem to Irfan.
The film has a very interesting plot and an unexpected outcome, beautiful landscapes. Every time you look at the main characters, you wish them happiness, but something it does not go to them.
