Protect Me from What I Want Anyway, these words will always be associated with the song of the band "Placebo".
"Protect Me From Mine" is a short film I've been waiting for about a year and recently got to see. I assure you that the 13 minutes that it will last will not be wasted time unless you are homophobic. Yes, homosexuality is what we are talking about here. In our country, this topic still causes fierce controversy and indignation, while other countries have long adopted the concept of the word “tolerance”. And now for the short film.
Protect Me From My Wish is the story of two young men fleeing loneliness. Daz wants to find the only one who will be good with, and Salim wants to find the best. Salim cannot decide his own wishes. On the one hand, he is drawn to Dazu, the forbidden fruit is sweet and temptations to resist is very difficult. On the other hand, he doubts that a connection with an unfamiliar young man will be the right move. The problem with Salim is that he considers his desire to be forbidden and vicious, he is ashamed of it. Shame on what his family and friends might think. That is why their meeting and farewell have the character of something secret, vicious.
I’m not going to tell you how it ended, I’m just going to say that by the end you’ll probably be sitting there and saying to yourself, “Turn around, come on, turn around!”
