Where everyone knows everything "How does everyone know I'm going to Brazil?" ©
I didn’t expect a film like this from Portugal. Or rather, a movie with such a plot. Since the plot is the main thing in this film, while in other films, the main thing can be a furrowed special effect and / or strawberries in different volumes. I'm glad I saw the movie. If they had not stopped at the end, they would have been happier. But everything in order.
Plot
Here is a synopsis of this film, which is currently missing from the description. This synopsis is present on all sites and does not contain a spoiler:
Chico, suspecting his business partner Alberto in an affair with his wife, takes him to a car dump to deal with him like a man. Alberto locks himself from Chico in the trunk of an old car, and after leaving it later finds him dead, and then tries to deal with all this, because he has a plane to Brazil in a couple of hours.
This film recalls 11:14 (2003) and Zero (2009) in how one event relates to another. And not just an event. Also reminiscent of the movie Highway 9 (1998) on the way the plot unfolds. It starts at 0:02:20. Do you know a lot of movies where something starts to happen in the first minutes of screen time?
Actors
The only person I can single out is Elder Mendez as Alberto. I think he played better than the others. But that's just my view.
Minuses
Striptease Maybe it will please someone, but I don’t understand the directors who try “neither to the village nor to the city” pinned nudity. This topless (and there will be no more) has no influence on the plot, but he was given a lot of time. Was the director/writer/producer/operator/composer/installator Fernando Fragata unsure of the film’s success that he had resorted to such enticement aimed at a youth audience?
Undisclosed There are many moments in the film that have not been fully revealed. No, it doesn’t spoil the film, because they don’t really matter, but it would be more interesting if the director revealed them all. As in 11:14 (2003).
Recession of dynamics About 60 minutes (i.e. after an hour of viewing) the dynamics began to subside. The plot flowed more smoothly, slowly. No, there’s nothing wrong with it, but if the creators hadn’t slowed down and concentrated the denouement towards the end, continuing to keep the viewer on edge all this time, I would have put 8 out of 10.
Oh, yeah.
7 out of 10
