Soviet woman is the main enemy of spies and saboteurs. The film “Daughter of the Motherland” tells us about the life of a border collective farm in Belarus. Collective farmers, in addition to their main agricultural occupations, actively help border guards in protecting the state border of the USSR. Both old and young take part in the capture of numerous spies and saboteurs sent to us by the enemies of the Soviet Union.
The main character of the film is the “daughter of the Motherland”, the daughter of Soviet Belarus, a girl named Pasha (Z. Karpova). She is the chairman of the collective farm, and a kind of leader in the capture of saboteurs. At the beginning of the film, she arrests her ninth spy. But this “ninth” turned out to be just a distraction, because the main saboteur, the “faulty enemy”, managed to slip through all the border posts. However, without the help of local residents, the enemy cannot do. But among the collective farmers there is only one traitor - Brigadier Ignat, who during the Civil War gave the White Guards his friend, the commander of the partisan detachment and the father of the main character Pasha, and then for 15 years successfully masqueraded as an honest Soviet man.
The main theme of the film is people’s trust in each other. This kolkhoz is small, everyone knows each other, lives side by side for many years, trusts their neighbors. One of them is a traitor. And at first it seems that Brigadier Ignat is simply afraid of the saboteur because of some cash receipts. By the end of the film, it becomes clear that he has always hated the Soviet regime, so to speak, the real inner enemy. In order to disrupt the planned exercises of the Red Army, he is even ready to poison all the wells in the area of the collective farm, that is, to expose all his fellow villagers to attack.
In general, the film is very good, the action unfolds quite dynamically, spies and saboteurs of all stripes seek to harm the Soviet people. In the film, there is a vigilant grandfather who pays attention to all strangers in the area, as well as an attentive boy who is going to become a border guard. And the main character, “daughter of the Motherland” Pasha, is very good at the races that wins, and with a gun in her hand, when she combs the forest together with border guards in search of a saboteur. Good and the commander of the border detachment, especially his closing words:
A Bolshevik cannot have a cotton heart. Kill the enemy or he will kill you!
