A gendarme in Cape Town in Indian or Sanjay Dutt as Louis de Funes. After several super serious films in a row, I wanted something primitive, absolutely absurd and even stupid, so as not to strain my brain. And so when I started watching this film, according to the filmography of Sanjaya Dutta, I realized that this was exactly what I needed. You don't even have to turn your brains on. Absolutely frivolous and even stupid movie, reminded me of the series about the French gendarme, which at one time brilliantly performed Louis de Funes (therefore titled the review). To confess, I didn’t really like this series even in school, it seemed to me absolutely stupid and meaningless, but funny. It had that subtle French humor that is in every French film.
And this movie is exactly the same. It was funny, but nothing more. But Sanju was great in that role. When an actor plays a completely stupid and primitive character and does not cause irritation at all, then this actor is at least a genius. To Sanjayu this term is quite applicable. I really liked it. I don’t know what this film was made for, it was probably a failure in the process of filming, and why such amazing actors as Sanjay Dutt, Anupam Kher, Gulshan Grover, Rati Agnihotri decided to star in it, and others also lit up here. But what was filmed is filmed, and apparently these actors just needed to fool around, having rested from serious roles and just relax on the set.
This is probably the worst and dumbest Sanjay role of his entire acting career, but I repeat, he was great in this image. His character caused only a smile and tenderness, and did not irritate at all. His character Chatur Singh, the absolute slut, constantly fails all the cases so that he is not entrusted, he spoils everything, but nevertheless he is kept by the police. Probably to make someone laugh at. His boss, Anupam Kher, constantly suffers from the clumsiness of his subordinate, but keeps him in his department to entrust him with very minor matters, such as finding a missing cat of a musician, or a lost scarf of a scattered old woman, and not to distract other policemen with such trifles. A Chatur Singh makes every effort to perform his work with quality and dignity. He can solve any case in three minutes. Perhaps his non-standard thinking and primitiveness helps him in this. And this character Sanjaya always reminded me of the characters of Pierre Richard in all his films.
In general, the film is completely absurd, if you watch it, then the brain can not even turn on, and it does not last long, only 1 hour 50 minutes. The film does not pull to a high rating, so I do not write negative reviews. But I do not want to spoil the statistics with low ratings, such good actors, so I will leave the review neutral and without assessment. And how to perceive this film, you decide for yourself, if you still want to watch it.
