Sometimes, watching the next season of “War of Thrones”, or some tense criminal procedure, or plunged into another episode of the eternal war of special forces against the forces of evil, suddenly you catch yourself wanting to see something like this. So that it was fun, and funny, and at the same time and not stupid, and that without focusing on all these modern things-hooks, keep the gadgets. And your heart tells you the legendary names - "Streets of San Francisco", "Miami Police: Vice", "Detective Nash Bridges". And, as it turned out, there is something similar and cute in the huge legion of modern TV series. So let me recommend with all due care - "Common Cause," a handsome guest from 2012. It was a good year, very good... But back to the show. In fact, "Common Cause" is most reminiscent of both the eternal classics of the Buddy Movie - the films of the "Lethal Weapon" series, and the legendary same series "Miami Police: Vice Department." It's cool. Heroes are cool. What do you need for happiness?
Well, seriously, here's the cute side of the project: two partners, two police detectives. White and black. Both are still pretty young. One is a dude and an eternal womanizer. The second is a real dandy and is struggling with a divorce from his wife. He also has a big problem: his partner. And difficulty controlling anger. In general, the guys investigate quite serious cases, but their relationship brings a strong comedy stream into the overall canvas of the narrative. They also have a captain, the chief of the precinct. And a wonderful psychologist (Sonya Walger). And there is a small miracle - the characters from the screen drive away the longing and bad mood, to watch their adventures is ridiculous - but at the same time you understand that "the fairy tale is a lie - yes, it is a hint." Michael Ealy and Warren Cole were able to give us a holiday. They just do their job, they just live. But they are both in their element, like fish in the water (so I would like to call this dashing couple barracudas – in memory of “Detective Nash Bridges”).
It's like Miami Police twenty years later. Another era, another world. But the same remains – the confrontation between the policeman and the scumbag, strong male friendship and love for beautiful and cute women.
Simple, strong, funny, kind of such a series. I highly recommend it!
