Iron constancy Studio 4°C probably didn’t just plan to break all the main events of the Golden Age into three parts. With the first movie, they didn’t do that very well. Yes, he certainly got rid of many rather long episodes, but at the same time, he managed to lose absolutely important ones. The same battle with Nosferatu Zodd seemed to me extremely fleeting and did not feel the intensity of passion that was present in this episode of the 1997 series. It was doubly interesting to see the implementation of other rather important episodes for “Berserk”. In the second film, most of them were reflected, but some were just forgotten. At the same time, "Battle for Daldray" is no worse than "Beherit the Sovereign."
The plot of the sequel follows almost immediately after the events of Beherit the Sovereign. Guts has already finally settled into the Falcon squad, received even more respect for his person from his colleagues, as well as Griffith. At the same time, he still has an unstoppable temper, which every time forces him to sacrifice himself and burst into the thick of the battle. This time, the Falcon detachment faces an almost impossible task - they must capture a completely impregnable fortress and not shame themselves in the person of the king, as well as his retinue, who are extremely skeptical of Griffith and his people.
The Battle of Daldray actually had a great first half. There is not a single extra frame or dialogue. Everything is done clearly and to the point. Most of the main events are reflected here. In addition, the continuation of the new “Berserk” is not lost in dynamics. On the contrary, the second film became even more brutal and brutal, and the battle scenes seemed even better than those in the previous film. I was very worried about fighting a hundred warriors and didn’t want to repeat what happened in the previous Zodda Nosferatu movie. But no, the battle was quite worthy, although it takes slightly less screen time than the one shown in the 1997 series. I have no complaints about the battle for Daldray. Moreover, the creators seem to be able to afford some retreats. But since I haven’t read the original manga, it’s hard to say if there were any such episodes. But in comparison with the series, some aspects have changed, but not very significantly. Problems arise in the second half, when there are about thirty minutes left before the end. The creators for some reason deliberately stretched the episode at the ball, which even the original series did not allow itself, and the scene of Griffith’s copulation was also very stretched, although it would seem that this time could be given to the same appearance of Zodd on the battlefield. Although this episode did not lead the 1997 series to anything significant, it is certainly important for the universe of “Berserk”.
Of course, there are several more quite entertaining episodes that were not included in the “Battle for Daldray”, but specifically for them for some reason I do not want to scold the film. In addition, the local 3D still periodically very much catches the eye, and flashbacks from the childhood of the main characters annoy simply incredibly peculiar twitching. Otherwise, it turned out quite well and in my opinion decent. Let’s just say I liked the first movie much less. And with the "Battle of Daldray" a set of factors came together more or less well. And if not for a few completely unnecessary, as well as prolonged episodes, the second film would clearly be rated by me a score higher.
