Father of comedians This film shows the three most famous paintings of the great comedian Max Linder, who during his short life managed to participate as a director, screenwriter and actor in about a hundred films. The talent of such a person is clearly noticeable, even despite his miniature growth, which did not interfere with him, and even helped to look even more expressive on the screen. It is worth noting that Linder largely formed Charlie Chaplin as an artist and to some extent, so to speak, gave him the baton of the world comedian. In other words, he passed on his legacy to Chaplin, and he masterfully continued the tradition of Max Linder.
The film was made by Linder Maud Linder’s daughter. However, the film “Be My Wife” and “Seven Years of Misfortune” was crossed, and I must say, there is no difference in both films, because the psychology of the main character remains the same – arrogance, frivolity, excessive enterprise and all these qualities are shown by Max to achieve his goal, the wedding with the beautiful Mary. As for the music in the film, it reminded me of the magnificent films of Leonid Gaidai, most likely Linder’s paintings served as a textbook for the famous Soviet director.
The genius of Linder is that he was the first to show character in a comedy character. He laid the foundations in comedy and personally demonstrated them on the screen with the help of his brilliant game, expressed by the representation of different types of characters, in this case: the hero-lover, Musketeer. The pioneer Linder acted on the cinema in a capital way, turning one of its genres into a dramatic art.
