There are no miracles in the USSR And the accents in the film of Alexander Proshkin fall, unfortunately, not on the miracle in its mysterious depth - well, this task is not so easy to cope. Not on spiritual, but on historical reality directs our views of the Director. The way Soviet society, like a disturbed anthill, is trying to get rid of a foreign body. In different ways: running away from him (unfortunately, the priest), trying to destroy him (the police), ignoring (Nikita Sergeevich), using for their own purposes (Ombudsman for Religious Affairs).
What is the right way to treat a miracle?
I think the film will primarily be useful to atheists to understand and try to justify their personal attitude to the miracle. But a believer, the film may disappoint some ' undisclosed topic'.
A very unpleasant moment - when a priest asks to bring a virgin monk - allegedly only he can take the icon. Here the screenwriter pays tribute to the traditions of Hollywood mysticism - with its ubiquitous three sixes, the blood of virgins and other external tinsel, necessarily playing a decisive role in the pre-apocalyptic period.
As always, I enjoyed a great game Sergey Makovetsky.
