After graduating from high school, the young man entered the Kiev Theater School, but left training, getting a job as an installer in the Lesya Ukrainka Theater. Then Sergei Makovetsky decided to conquer Moscow and entered the Shchukin Theatre School. The actor was not taken into the army, and he went to work in the Vakhtangov Theater.
