I love Rex Stout very much. I have a complete collection of his works in as many volumes as there, and I re-read it periodically. Expectations for the film were probably too high.
What I liked: interiors, costumes, generally the atmosphere of the beginning or mid-century.
What didn't like: actors playing Niro Wolf and Archie Goodwin. They didn’t match my presentation... Niro Wolf, in my imagination, should have a more puffy face, but a more expressive facial expression.
And Archie Goodwin I'd like to see bigger, more masculine and more serious (not as much of a clown, to be exact). Jokes are certainly a necessary feature of his image, but they should be in contrast, not as the main content.
The other actors are good.
