The Dalai Lama XIV is the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people. He was born on July 6, 1935 in the small village of Takzer. His family was poor and, like the rest of the villagers, cultivated oats, wheat and potato crops. Nine of his other sisters and brothers died as children. The Dalai Lama XIV is the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people. He was born on July 6, 1935 in the small village of Takzer. In 1909, the Dalai Lama XIII made pilgrimages to the holy places. And visited the village of Tucczer. He noticed the uniqueness and beauty of the place and said he would like to visit again. In 1937, after the death of the Dalai Lama XIII, a group of people arrived in the village looking for his new incarnation. After several trials, two-year-old Lhamo Thondrub was recognized as the reincarnation of his predecessor.
The Dalai Lama XIV was enthroned on February 22, 1940. He had to study from the age of six to the age of twenty-five to obtain the degree of Geshe Lharamba. At the age of twenty-six in 1959, the young man passes examinations at three main monastic universities in Tibet - Sira, Drepung, Ganden. They passed in the main temple of Lhasa. At that time there was an annual prayer festival. The next morning, the Dalai Lama passed the exams of thirty logic teachers. In the afternoon, a philosophical discussion was held with fifteen scholars. In the evening, the young man was examined by thirty-five scholars on metaphysics and monastic discipline. The Dalai Lama passes all the exams attended by twenty thousand learned monks, and receives the title of Geshe-Lharamba.
The Dalai Lama has written a book titled “The Way of a True Leader.”
On November 17, 1950, the Dalai Lama ascended the throne of the spiritual and secular ruler of Tibet.
