Irina Chashchina is a Russian athlete who performs in rhythmic gymnastics in team and individual exercises. Irina is a champion of Europe and the world, silver medalist of the Olympic Games in 2004, Honored Master of Sports of Russia. She became active in sports at the age of six. Irina is a champion of Europe and the world, silver medalist of the Olympic Games in 2004, Honored Master of Sports of Russia. She became active in sports at the age of six. Initially, she was fond of music and gymnastics, later decided to stop at rhythmic gymnastics. Her first coach was Elena Arise. At the age of twelve, the girl became a member of the Russian national team and began to travel to the capital. As a junior, Chaschina took the first position at the CIS Spartakiad, twice winning the Russian championship among girls.
In August 1999, Irina began training at the Olympic Training Center with Irina Viner. From that moment began the performances of Irina in the Russian team. At the end of Yulia Baskurova’s speeches in 2000, Chaschina firmly settled on the second line in the world ranking. First place went to Alina Kabaeva.
In 2004, at the Olympics in Athens, Chaschina was able to win a silver medal in the all-around. In 2001, Kabaeva and Chaschina were caught using furosemide, after which they were disqualified for two years. The athletes were deprived of the awards of the Goodwill Games and the world championship in 2001. Between 2001 and 2002, they were not eligible to compete. The second year was given conditionally, that is, they could play in tournaments, but they were set very strict control.
At the age of 26, Chaschina became deputy prefect of the Northern District of the capital for tourism and sports. In February 2011, Irina Chashchina was released from this post, and she resigned from the civil service of Moscow on her own initiative.
In addition to sports, Chaschina managed to try herself as an actress ("Galileo"), and as a writer ("Become yourself").
