Vyacheslav Ivanovich Polunin was born on June 12, 1950. Even at school, after seeing the Chaplin film “The Kid”, he became interested in clowning. In 1968, he created a pantomime studio in Leningrad under the Leningrad DC named after Lensovet, from which the Clown-Mime Theater "Lycedei" grew over time. Fame Vyacheslav Polunin brought the number "Asisi", with which he performed in the television program "New Year's blue light" at the turn of 1980-1981. However, even before that, the clown has appeared in various TV programs and concerts. Around the world, Vyacheslav Polunin created festivals and associations of street and folk theaters, pantomimes and clowns: 1987 - the first festival of street theaters, 1989 - the European festival "Revival of street theaters", 1993 - the first festival of women clowns of the world.
He created the Academy of Fools and became its president. Among the programs created by Polunin are “Carnival”, “Baden-Baden”, “Night on Bald Mountain”, “Fantazers”, “Catastrophe”, “Snow Action”. Since 1994, Vyacheslav Polunin lives in England, however, by his own admission, he does not know English. For the show “Living Rainbow” by the Queen of Great Britain, he was awarded the title of “Honorary Resident of London”. Vyacheslav Polunin has repeatedly starred in films, including without clown makeup in the lyrical comedy "Hello, Dummies!" by Eldar Ryazanov.
