Vadim Valerievich Perelman was born in Ukraine in Kiev on September 8, 1963. His father Valery Perelman was the chief engineer of the Kanev power plant, his mother Zhanna Rakhvalskaya was engaged in home and family. He studied mathematics and physics for a while at Alberta University, then continued his studies in Toronto, Canada, at the University of Alberta and at Ryrson University Film School. Without finishing his studies, Vadim began shooting video clips. He started his own company, Sanned Films.
In 1990, Perelman moved to America and settled in Los Angeles. For 13 years, he made a living shooting commercials for leading American companies. His debut film was released in 2003 under the title
