James Gammon began his career as a cameraman in television. He did not win big laurels in the cinema, but he was remembered for his roles in the films Cold Mountain. Major League Wyatt Earp and a number of other films. James was born on April 20, 1940 in Newman, Illinois. After his parents divorced, he lived in Orlando, where he tried his hand at television. In the early 1960s, he left for Hollywood and got his first roles there, playing on television in the Western TV series Days in the Valley
