Mikael Persbrandt is a Swedish actor who usually plays leading roles and "bad boys." He became famous for his roles as a police officer in Martin Beck and Beorne in the second and third parts of The Hobbit.
Michael Persbrandt was born in 1963 in the Swedish town of Jacobsberg. Since childhood, he grew up a talented child, and his mother helped develop his abilities. She sent the boy to study acting, as well as attend ballet school.
Michael’s acting career began at the Royal Drama Theatre in Stockholm.

Michael’s acting career began at the Royal Drama Theatre in Stockholm. He played on the stage until 2007. It was then that he decided to leave the theater, as he could not combine it with filming in films and television series. This decision caused a violent negative reaction in the creative environment. Many believed that Persbrandt betrayed his favorite business and his theater partners.
His film career began in 1990 after he met director Stig Larsson. In 1992, he appeared in the television series Rederiet, which aired until 2002.
