On August 26, 1992, this extraordinary woman married Prince Heinrich Ruzzo Reuss von Plauen, and since then she has been treated as a bright princess. But for music lovers, she remains Anni-Frida Ljungstad, the soloist of the legendary group ABBA, the queen of popular music, whose voice has been heard for many years in the etheric space of the whole planet.
Anni-Frid (born November 15, 1945) grew up an orphan: her young mother died in 1947, and her father, a German, was long missing. At thirteen, the gifted girl entered the professional scene as a pop singer in the style of “dansband”, later sang jazz, and in 1963 she formed her own band “Anni-Frid Four”. In the same year, Frida married Ragnar Fredriksson, a musician, and broke up with him seven years later, after the birth of her second child, a daughter.
Leaving children with her husband, Frida moved to Stockholm to pursue a musical career. Meeting with
Bjorn Ulvaeus and
Agnetha Feltskou The beautiful Anni-Frid became famous all over the world, her charming low voice sounded in the charts of all radio stations of the world, then harmoniously merging with the voice of the second soloist, then leading (the song "Money, Money, Money").
In her performances with ABBA, Frida looked expressive, bright, in some ways even provocative, but it was to her and the ensemble as a whole. At the height of ABBA’s popularity, on October 6, 1978, Anni-Frid Ljungstad and Benny Andersson married officially, but this marriage lasted only three years. In 1981, the couple divorced, in 1982, the group ABBA, which had exhausted its creative and emotional potential, ceased its activities, and in the same year Frida left her native Sweden.
For some time, the singer lives in London, in 1984 recorded the album “Shine” in Paris, but this project does not bring her success – at least in comparison with the phenomenal fame with ABBA.
In 1986, Annie-Frid returned to Sweden, continuing to engage in musical creativity, but the success of her work is limited by popularity at home - only professionals know about Ljungstad's solo career abroad. 11 years after her divorce from Andersson, Frida remarries: a longtime admirer, Prince Henry, offered her a hand and heart. Thanks to this marriage, Anni-Frid becomes a friend of the Swedish royal family and, like all highly placed persons, begins to engage in charity.
The years 1998 and 1999 became dramatic in the fate of Her Ladyship: Anni-Frid’s daughter, Lisa-Lotte, dies in a car accident, and her husband dies of cancer. Music has no place in Frida’s life, but many years after the collapse of ABBA, the former soloist recalled herself by appearing at the London premiere of the musical “Mamma mia!”. /
