Russian-American actor Igor Jijikine was born in Moscow on October 8, 1965. Since childhood, distinguished by special organizational abilities, Igor was educated at the Moscow State University of Physical Culture, mastering the specialty “Organization of sports and mass events of physical education and sports”. Soon after studying in Russia, Igor moved to the United States and entered the Nevada Theatre School.
Fate decreed that Igor Zhizhikin remained in America. Getting there together with the artists of the circus cooperative, who went on a world tour, he was left alone without funds for existence. Getting a lawn mower, then a domestic worker, Zhizhikin was constantly looking for something new, anticipating that he would be lucky in Las Vegas. Once he accidentally got to the rehearsal of the play “Golden Dust” and liked the producer with his talents in the field of ballet. A little later, in 1991, he was cast as Samson in the then popular musical Samson and Delilah. It was an amazing success: in three years he turned from a homeless man into a star of Las Vegas. After this event, Zhizhikina began to be actively invited to shoot advertising clothes. He then became the face of Red Alert, a computer game company. His courageous facial features attracted everyone from producers to photographers.
In 2002, Igor Zhizhikin starred in a full-fledged
Bloody Work Clint Eastwood. The picture was highly appreciated by film critics, but the actor stopped working with this director, moving to the set of Steven Spielberg. Over the years of his creative career, he worked in tandem with the most famous characters of American cinema, entering the plot into a fight with them. Clint Eastwood later joked that “there is no actor that Zhizhikin would not beat on set.”
Recently, Igor Zhizhikin has been actively acting in both American and Russian films. His masculine image can be seen in such films as “Run the fishing rods” (2004), “Men’s Season: Velvet Revolution” (2005), “Ruslan” (2009). The release of 2012 include the films “Male Season 2: Time of Rage” and “Viy: Return”, in which Igor Zhizhykin plays the main roles. /
