Subtle coloring and an impressionistic approach to landscape distinguish this patriotic animated short set to music. After a flourishing Soviet hamlet is destroyed by Nazi planes, the sole survivor is confronted by a hulking Nazi commando in a tank. The military man tries to cajole the young violinist into repeating a jaunty harmonica melody at gunpoint but the boy strikes up a noble song of resistance instead. Stepantsev's film may romance the idea of martyrdom but it does so with a gravity not often found in similar films. close

The cartoon “The Fox and the Bear” was created in 1975 by Soviet director Natalia Golovanova based on the script by Vladimir Danilov.
The plot features of the short film "The Fox and the Bear"
The animated story tells about an intricate, ingenious Fox and a trusting, good-natured Bear. As in the folk tale, based on which the ribbon was created, self-interest, cunning, meanness, manifested as a response to sincere hospitality and cordiality, are condemned. The presented plot should be perceived as a kind and instructive tale, a fairly accurate and vivid allegory for people like animals, which in principle are not so few.
The creators of the cartoon "The Fox and the Bear"
In the creation of the animated film took an active part: Fedor Ivanov (as director of the film), Boris Kotov (as operator), Boris Saveliev (as composer), Max Zherebchevsky (as artist), Isabella Gerasimov (as editor). The main characters are voiced: Roman Filippov, Luciena Ovchinnikova.
Why children should see the cartoon
This animated short film will interest young viewers, allowing them to understand on a simple and vivid example how to deal with guests and how not to behave with good-natured hosts. close

Unfortunately, Peppermint Patty, over-tired by Marcie waking her up at 4:00 in the morning, inadvertently distracts Charlie Brown and his sister from their group and they all mistake a neighbouring supermarket for the Art Museum. Even as they try to understand why all the displays are for sale so cheaply, Patty's weariness and her own ambivalent feelings about Chuck causes her to blurt out some hurtful comments about him. Now, Charlie Brown is going to have to realize his basic mistake in his report, while Marcie and Peppermint Patty search for a way of making amends to the boy they both secretly like in their own way. close
