Director Ivan Davydov’s satirical animated mini-collection “Laughter and Sin” is a hilarious 8-minute illustration of three old Russian proverbs adapted to the Soviet everyday realities of the late 1970s. The recognizable hand-drawn animation of Alexei Bukin and Elvira Maslova, who worked together on “Three of Prostokvashino”, makes the short cartoon lively and understandable to any viewer.
Episode 1: "Language will bring to Kiev"
What happens if a tourist in Leningrad asks a passer-by how to go, for example, to Nevsky? It would seem that the question is simple, but none of the people met can give a clear answer. Episode 3: "Water does not flow under a lying stone"
Every inhabitant of the Soviet Union knows: it is easier to repair a failed plumbing yourself than to wait for a plumber from the housing and communal services, who is never in place. Here all the residents of the house from a simple worker to a fragile housewife themselves eliminate the resulting blockages. Design and execution
The project “Laughter and Sin” was originally conceived as a serial almanac in which household troubles were to be ridiculed, which are so easily confirmed by ancient proverbs and sayings. However, the idea did not receive support. Nevertheless, Ivan Davydov continued to shoot cartoons for adults in collaboration with screenwriter Mikhail Lipskerov. In the “smoke of the horse” he mocked smoking, in the “new Aladdin” – bureaucrats, in the “Forty degrees on the areometer” – alcoholism, in “How to backfire” – rudeness. close
