Karl-Heinz, a filling-station attendant, and his family, Herta, a retiree, Kurt, a drugstore branch manager, and Margot, a divorced man-hunter, have only more
Karl-Heinz, a filling-station attendant, and his family, Herta, a retiree, Kurt, a drugstore branch manager, and Margot, a divorced man-hunter, have only one thing in common: they have booked a holiday at Club Las Piranjas, where they want to relax from their nerve-racking occupations. But there are three people knowing a way to prevent this. Most notably the two animators Edwin and Biggy, who don't allow any amusement outside their own plans, and of course the always drunken club chief Mrs. Wenger, whose only thought is, that there shouldn't be any reclamation from the travel agency. Apart from the scruffy condition of the Club (no water in the pool, etc). and the obscure Club activities involving Biggy and Edwin, the vacation becomes a complete horror trip, with only one end in sight, which is to part from the club as soon as possible. "Schadenfreude" is a drama directed by Simon Pickup about the pernicious side of entertainment shows and the cost of journalistic irresponsibility.
Invasion ratings bring benefits to the owners of the channel, but destroy the fate of the participants of the project, whose “face” is unceremonious host Jeremy O’Reilly. The star of a popular TV show treats guests of the studio as expendable material. Cynicism, indifference and fatigue from people, their problems and experiences are the costs of the profession, which any journalist knows about. Sympathy and tact recede into the background when it is necessary to make a sensation, pull out scandalous information from the interlocutor and “give birth” in a live story, about which all the media will immediately write. The screen star asks questions that hurt the dignity of his guests. He is a master of provocation and doc in inquiry, knows how to dispose of the interlocutor to the conversation, but will never respond to frankness with reciprocity. Jeremy won't say a word about himself. Feeling insulted, a group of young people who were put up for universal condemnation by the leader decides to take revenge on the offender. But during a meeting with O’Reilly, an innocent colleague, Paige Boston, is murdered. close

We are about to see, live and with plenty of (some real and some fake) advertisements, an underground championship of girls boxing, or more exactly, catch-weight mixed martial arts competition. The always vociferous crowd of spectators (even when there's no action) serves as background for the endless and tiresome jokes of The Broadcast Team. It's not clear how many the competitors are, as the video cover mentions 9, but there are only 8 credits, the interviews don't follow a pattern, and the action consists of six matches. The accidental winner is handed a metal and the US$ 500,000 prize cash in a large handbag. That leads to a number of punch-ups, as everyone wants to take the bag from the next girl or guy, until the cops arrive to put an hurried end to the show. close

He's unpopular, whiny and cranky, not to mention a second-rate street mime fond of belittling his audience. James longs for a life or reckless abandon, much like that of his unscrupulous roommate Frank Feldspar - a thief, murderer, and a professional poet who is loved by all. James enthusiastically embraces the lifestyle of a hardened criminal, and he teams up with Frank for a daring armed robbery. *Notes from IMDB* close
