Aguilera's first concert video, a repackaging of a slick special that aired on ABC-TV in 2000, shows what this "girl" really wants is to move beyond the bouncy R&B-flavored pop she's known for. Her cheeky hits ("Genie in a Bottle," "Come On Over, Baby," "What a Girl Wants") are followed by songs from Mi Reflejo, her Spanish-language album, and My Kind of Christmas, her holiday release. She has sweet duets with R&B legend Dr. John on "Merry Christmas, Baby" and balladeer Brian McKnight on "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," and shares the stage with rapper Lil' Bow Wow (weird, but it works) on "So Emotional" and "Christmas Time." close

For the Russian audience, McCartney's appearance in Moscow is little short of a miracle. The Beatles were banned for decades by the Soviet government, which regarded their music as the epitome of Western decadence and propaganda, and the fans' only access to the group was through the occasional photo or black market album. Their reaction to his 2003 visit is a mixture of frenzy and rapture. close

Britney Spears: In the Zone is a busy batch of Britney-mania, much of it featuring Spears in crisp dance numbers supplemented by behind-the-scenes glimpses and chatter. The heart of the show is an ABC television special featuring live performances of "Toxic," "Breathe on Me," and "I'm a Slave 4 U." A fun highlight is Spears's hip-hop collaboration with the Ying Yang Twins on "(I Got That) Boom Boom," one of the few numbers in the star's stage repertoire with a little room for spontaneity. Between songs one finds Spears gushing over her grandfather, praising her entourage, describing the emotional toll of being in the public eye, and writing songs. close

Stars on Trial is a MuchMusic television special based on the MuchMusic television program Video on Trial. It premiered in late December 2005, as part of the network's annual "Holiday Wrap." Stars on Trial uses basically the same concept as Video on Trial. However, the special was a full hour long as opposed to being a half-hour long and took place in an actual courtroom set instead of a black background set. Also, the jury analyzed celebrities themselves instead of just music videos.
The show was MuchMusic's highest rated special of the year other than the MuchMusic Video Awards. close
