Golroch Nafizi grew up in Iran, and continued her art training in the Netherlands. Here she literally carried her childhood through the streets of Amsterdam. My Glorious Childhood is a film about trying to find the perfect balance between past and present.
The work visualizes the invisible consequences of the past that we carry into the present, and which invisibly shapes our new relationships with people and the places we visit. With a doll in her hand, symbolizing her childhood, Nafizi goes to public places and tries to communicate with people who either go to the heroine of the film “My magnificent childhood” to meet or keep a distance. close

The film “Birth of a Nation” is the work of Dutch author Daya Kahen, which is her third documentary about Russia. Following the films “Stalin, whom I played” and the 2008 film about the summer camp of the movement “Nashi”, she releases a short film “The Birth of a Nation”, a story about the students of a unique military school in Moscow.
Here, girls aged 11 to 17 learn how to be an impeccable citizen of their homeland. The director does not interview anyone, she only shows six different stories of girls. The camera impassively captures how the pupils learn to sew, march, cook, sing, shoot and apply makeup. The school is dedicated to raising not only true patriots of their country, but also ideal women. close

Achromates are people who are sensitive to light and cannot distinguish colors. The Achromatic Island is a cinematic essay Sophie Thorsen that reveals the essence of this perception of the world.
The black and white painting “Island of colorblind people” shows a gray landscape: fields, forests, industrial complex, agricultural buildings, transport. And the voice-over tells about those who suffer from achromatopsia, and also about the fact that until the middle of the last century this special disease, a form of color blindness, was most often noted on the Danish island of Four. close
