Not the most successful film adaptation ... If the film is perceived as an independent unit, and not as a film adaptation of Nosov’s novel “Vitya Maleev at school and at home”, then it is very kind and bright.
And if you draw analogies... The book is brilliant. It tells about the life of Soviet children in school, family, friendship and relationships, decency. The story is insanely instructive, but despite this it is very easy to read, plunge into it with your head. You understand how a person’s personality is formed, you worry about the heroes, you root for them. A work worthy of the Stalin Prize.
The film does not reveal a tenth of the above. The emphasis is on school performance, childishness, and sometimes Soviet moralism shines through. Many important points are missed, sometimes it is difficult to follow the plot. All the right humor was thrown out and stuffed into school grades, grades, grades. Where are the students? Where's the character building? Disappointed ...
Thank you for allowing me to see Janina Jameau again.
