Senses and sensitivity Evil words and deeds - children of resentful pride and vengeful mind, kindness and happiness - friends of our soul. (c) own conclusion after watching the series + experience
Please note that I am not a fan of anime. My first acquaintance with this genre of cartoons took place in adolescence with a simple and at the same time brilliant film
Hayao Miyazaki "Gone With Ghosts". First of all, I was struck by the absence of any negative characters, the amazing plot, the drawing, which is strikingly different from all the animated films seen a thousand times in the not so distant then childhood and the fact that after watching I began to think a little differently – wider and freer. I continued to get acquainted with the Japanese wonder further, grew spiritually with Hayao, marveled at the graphic accuracy in Makoto Shinkai films, and also learned to distinguish all his 256 colors of loneliness and longing through the screen. The cult
"Death Note" amused me well during the session, and also managed to accustom me to watching anime series, which was another discovery for me.
On the recommendation site I came across the name
Natsume Friendship Note, an association with
Death Notebook was held in my head, and I decided to see this masterpiece (at that time, of course, I did not know about it yet).
With a bored and sad look, I turned on the first episode (one episode or episode, which is more convenient, only lasts 20 minutes). I couldn't stop now.
No, there's no intricate plot. No, there is no striking graphics (although the drawing is at a very high level). No, there's no high philosophy or Oscar-winning dialogue. There is
good. The infinite good that dwells in your heart and will not let it go. Interest appears already on the initial credits, should be in each series. Usually, when you watch the series for a long time, you skip the opening screensaver and the final credits (at least I do so to save time), but not here. You, like a child, with a smile on your face meet the new series, and with a slight sadness say goodbye to the characters until the next episode.
An unusual plot, put on the life of a Japanese village, looks organic. This could only happen in this country, where there is a great respect for nature, spirits that can influence the lives of people who pray to him. A boy named Takashi Natsume can see spirits living in the same world as humans. Only a few possess this gift or curse, as Takashi believed. His entire childhood is wandering around relatives who are trying to shelter Takashi. But no one takes his words seriously, writing off the strange speech and actions of the hero on a stormy fantasy. Loneliness is what a boy experiences from early childhood. He runs from fears, flees from spirits, flees from people.
An encounter with a powerful spirit mistakenly released by Takashi changes the life of the protagonist. He and his new pussy guard cat (which is simply impossible not to fall in love with!) begin to help ghosts, changing the life of Takashi for the better.
The characters are so alive, and the dialogues are real, that after watching you wait for a furry and lazy “Kitty Sensei” (or Nyanko Sensei, as in the original) to run into the room and demand his sake, and after him a quiet and calm, always reasonable and kind Takashi will appear.
The unique nature of Japan is an important character in the series. Nature changes with the character - the autumn mysterious forest, summer scented meadow, mountain slopes and much more surround Takashi and make it exactly what it is.
Four seasons of this series, the plot does not make too sharp turns, revealing the characters of the characters, introducing Takashi to new people and events of distant years. Traditionally, for any movie or series, I was looking for the main villain. But here again the wisdom of all anime manifests itself - anger has a reason - resentment, fear, loneliness, excessive responsibility and a huge number of feelings and situations that can bind the heart with an ice shell, and cloud the mind with insidious plans of revenge.
You change after watching - not just become kinder, but sincerely empathize. You discover that you can smile but still be overwhelmed by heavy memories or that you can be happy with tears in your eyes. You begin to appreciate your surroundings, those who are nearby and in any situation ready to support you.
It cannot be categorically stated that Natsume’s Friendship Note will make you happy, kind or sad. Each episode will give you an emotional freedom, which you will fill with the feelings you need at the moment. What they will be is up to you.
