District 9 brutally mocks movie stereotypes about aliens. This time they find themselves in far from the most technologically advanced South Africa and at the same time are dependent on local residents. By exchanging their technology for cat food, alien refugees continue to drag on their miserable existence.
Within the framework of semi-legal resettlement, an even less pleasant truth emerges - people are much more cruel creatures than ingenious hardworkers from outer space. And at the center of this clash of cultures is interspecies friendship.
A great film, although the first half with the exposure of this traveled world looks head-on above the second, with chases and shootouts and illogical behavior of the protagonist.
It’s one of the best alien movies so far.
