And again Italian melodrama, this time – “Caos calmo” (2008), directed by Antonello Grimaldi (Antonio Luigi Grimaldi). This is a film adaptation of Sandro Veronesi's novel of the same name, which I haven't read, of course, I haven't even seen translated. Such a calm, leisurely film about how different people experience their grief.

It so happened that while two brothers on the beach rescue two drowning women, one of them, Pietro, dies his wife, which is revealed when they return home. He stays alone with his daughter. He is very worried about how the girl will survive the death of her mother, so he comes up with a special way to support her daughter and at the same time his own experience of mourning. You can't say they're grieving too much, but they've got all this inside of them, that quiet chaos. He brings his daughter to school every morning and sits in the square opposite him, waiting for classes to finish. He made this decision spontaneously, but this wait has been going on for quite some time, at work, where there are serious structural changes, treat this behavior with understanding. Sitting there, he observes the world around him, people, remembers and thinks about many things, he is visited there by colleagues, and his wife’s sister, and even a big boss, he is offered a promotion, he becomes a famous person in the district. At the same time, it turns out, as often happens in life, that he simply did not know much about his wife, her sister tells him something, he discovers something himself. But in the end, and this period in his life ends, slowly begin to change, ahead of a new life. The film turned out to be quite good, in fact touching, especially since such actors as Nanny Moretti (Pietro Paladini) and Alessandro Gassman (his brother Carlo Paladini) are also busy with other famous actors, Roman Polansky even flashed the role of boss.
