Watched an old melodrama with Marcello Mastroianni and Nastasia Kinski "Just as You Are", directed by Alberto Lattuada, 1978. A landscape designer living in Rome, during a business trip to Florence, meets a young beautiful Francesca, both are amazed by love at first sight and everything would be nothing, but literally the next day his acquaintance tells him the news, which stuns him that perhaps the girl is his daughter. Against such a potentially incestuous background, their relationship still develops for some time, the end is quite logical, although somewhat demonstrative on the part of the girl. I don’t know what to say about the movie. On the one hand, such melodrama-melodrama, actors play good, beautiful, music of Ennio Morricone, beautiful views of beautiful cities, but the attitude instilled in me that such love is possible even under the circumstances that come, does not find a response and support in my soul. And even sympathy for them does not arise in me at the mere thought that the sexual attraction, demonstrated through a number of erotic scenes showing the beauty of Nastasia Kinski in the nude, turns out to be stronger than the thought of possible kinship, so I am a retrograde. Yes, and it is very surprising that the film is English, that is not studied this point - whether it was already shot in English, or it is an English copy.
