An exemplary film about the desired image of Soviet youth of the early 80s (under the proper supervision of the Komsomol Committee - with a cautious irony about individual activists). Sterile-Soviet production conflicts, vocal-instrumental ensemble with ironed musicians after work watch, then walks (without kissing) couples... all young characters found a bright feeling, leaving no one unattached. Organized museum and gym visits illustrate the remaining elements of the target scheme. The film looks modernized (but late – socialist realism ended quite soon) as a replacement for the film “Girls” – for the next generation, no longer tempted by the romance of logging.
Towards the end of the film, when the Komsomol committee takes over the organization of the Sabbotnik to repair the old tugboat that is being recycled, but repulsed by force (in exchange for the promised new one), the viewer needs a particularly hardened one, which in our time is almost non-existent. In addition, the main character (captain) has a surprisingly boring expression: romanticism is subtle. Therefore, this film is probably easier to enjoy in the background - to the unfading songs of Antonov. Sometimes.
