Second Chance I have always loved sports movies. This one became special. Because here victory is not the main thing, and the team in this film does not win the championship. The film is based on real events. And if you think you've seen something like Adom Sendler's The Longest Yard, or Vinnie Jones's The Wicked Machine, about the same convicts playing European football, or the original remakes, you're wrong.
This movie is a little different. Yeah, jailers too. But minors convicted of minor or non-child offenses and serving time in a juvenile prison. Many of them (75 percent, to be exact, as we are told in the film) return to their old business on the street, i.e. to robberies, gang fights, robberies, hijackings, finally murders and return to prison. Therefore, the “chiefs” of the prison decide to help the children change their future: to get on the right path. And to help them do that, they have to come together and live together as a family. Even in prison. And for this, it is decided to recruit a team that will train and participate in the local football championship.
I have to give credit to the filmmakers. They perfectly managed to convey that atmosphere, the relationship among teenagers. You really start to believe in them, that they are not the scum of society and are just like everyone else. Dwayne Johnson proved that he is not only a pile of muscle, capable of playing cool guys in cool action movies. Even surprisingly, he never appeared in the film with a bare torso or tight-fitting T-shirt. Although I was so eager to see :. He did a great job in his role. I will also note the participation of gangsta rapper Xzibit. The fact that he played in this film is only a plus. In general, watch everyone.
