And in general, there are strange things in the picture. Here, for example, the main character claims that she was cut by a ghost. So what? The psychiatrist tells her that ghosts don't exist, which is probably what a patient did. And no worries. Although the news of a mentally ill patient who has obtained a knife or a scalpel should put the whole hospital on its ears, for it is worse than a hundred ghosts. But, no, sleep well, it's just crazy with a scalpel, not a ghost. There is nothing to worry about...
The plot is ugly banal. Vengeful ghosts, decent representatives of the authorities, who turn out to be insidious maniacs; the heroine who lives under the threat of terrible danger, but no one takes her seriously, a pathetic duel with a superior opponent in the final - a full set of cliches of a mystical thriller. And, of course, "I see dead people," how can I not?
However, there is something to praise the film for. It is very stylishly shot - quite "gothic", there are no claims to the production, camera work and special effects. The paranoid gloomy atmosphere of a psychiatric clinic, where maniacs and ghosts roam, is conveyed convincingly. Holi Berry is no less convincing in portraying the face and righteous anger.
Bottom line: a rather mediocre, but stylish thriller with an incomprehensible pretentious title.
