High friends This film had every chance to become a super hit no less in importance and cult than “Ten Negroes” or, say, “Look for a woman.” The film is shot by the patriarch of the Soviet detective Veniamin Dorman (series about the Resident), actors of the first magnitude are involved in the roles, the music was written by none other than Tariverdiev, the plot - as in good old agatocristian detectives - revolves around the company of people, by the will of fate or evil fate, locked in one room - in short - the perfect win-win option in all respects!
But... Something didn't work out... Whether the theme of the film is banal and worn out (well, no intrigue, even if you kill), whether the actors are weak, or the accents were improperly melted in the relationship of the characters - but the film turned out to be indistinct, chaotic, crumpled in some places and bloated in others - a whole bunch of absurdities with the wives and mistresses of the murdered director of the garment factory, and then suddenly at the end of the film - the joker jumped out of nowhere, as if the director hid it up his sleeve for a more ridiculous effect - and quite a few laughable inspectors in the finale!
I usually give Soviet films at least 10 points, but I have to give this only 8.
