Plot. The film tells the story of how an already experienced police officer René teaches the tricks of fraud to his young partner François. It's quite a comedic plot, but there's even a little bit of drama in the movie. And, of course, crime, without it. A great combination for a good old French film.
The director. This picture was made by Claude Zidie. The most famous French director. From the works of Claude I had the chance to see one of his last paintings “Asterix and Obelix against Caesar”, a rather excellent comedy with the inimitable Gerard Depardieu in the title role. Well, “Open up, police!” is an amazing work of this director.
The cast. The main role in the film was played by actor Philip Noiret, now deceased. I'm sorry. He played well, above all praise. Rene's partner, François, was played by Thierry Lermitt. In the future, this actor will be involved in such films as “Fanfan – the fragrance of love”, “American werewolf in Paris” and “Dinner with a jerk”. And in this film the actor played perfectly. Also among the actors noted Regine, Grace De Capitani, Albert Simono and I really liked Julien Guiomar, who played Commissioner Blore.
What a beautiful music in this movie. From the opening credits to the very end. Excellent!
Result. Good old French comedy. Everything about her is fine. Good for family viewing. I advise everyone. Don't ignore this masterpiece. Good luck watching!
