About the national hero of Poland Jaroslaw Dombrowski (1836-1871) combat officer who graduated from the Academy of the General Staff in St. Petersburg. For his active participation in the uprising of 1863, Dombrowski was sentenced to death, which was replaced by fifteen years of hard labor. Having escaped from prison, Dombrowski left for France, where he headed the armed forces of the Paris Commune. He died on the barricades.
