"Pay, P.R., pay!" The film is amazing, but with one caveat, either in the original or in Goblin’s translation. The usual, incompetent translation does not convey any color of the film. Only one speech in verse form about the trade from Bacon: "The product without flaw, the product without deception - reliable as a spring from the sofa ..." which is worth! Goblin broke his head over it for a month and we got this wonderful poem.
So before us is the standard of the genre, seasoned with English humor and color. Guy Ritchie brilliantly combined a motley company and twisted everything so gracefully and beautifully. Here you and professional footballer Winnie Jones (former player of London Chelsea and Wimbledon), and former boxer Lenny McLean, and Jason Statham (who first loudly declared himself), and finally Sting himself! And most importantly, without exception, all played their best roles, who do not take – you get an interesting and charismatic character. You've got the ringleader Doc, Nick Greek, Harry the Axe and Mr. Breaker. And all this is intertwined in such an interesting plot and an exciting narrative that you never get tired of watching this picture again and again.
This film turned out to be an absolute symbiosis, acting and directing work, a brilliant plot, delightful humor and a great ending. This is such an exemplary English cinema, which for almost two hours shows us the fascinating history of the criminal world of London.
A million catchphrases, avatars and gifs, gave this picture to the world, just a whole era. The film gave many actors a ticket to the world of cinema, Guy Ritchie loudly declared himself, unfortunately Lenny MacLean, who brilliantly played the role of Barry, died shortly after filming and this picture was dedicated to him.
One of the best films that looks great in the company of men. Take a glass of whiskey, smoke a cigar and immerse yourself in the atmosphere.
