The city of Hopeville is gearing up for the annual Swan Festival, which people come to take a look at the legendary black swan in the hope that it will bring them luck. Helen herself needs a little luck, she considers herself trapped in a boring Hopeville - she has no future here, the job of a waitress and the relationship with her cruel boyfriend Karl have exhausted themselves.
