Julien decides to fix everything: he buys the rights to the film, searches for all copies, and shoot a new version to rehabilitate the mother...

Watched a little-known French mini-series “Cinema” / Cinéma, 1988, 4 episodes, directed by Philippe Lefebvre. Watch the beginnings because of Alain Delon, who plays the main role. Julien Manda (Alain Delon) - a rather famous actor who made a name for himself on not very outstanding, but box office films, has long cherished the idea of making a film about his mother to restore her good name. The once famous pianist Marguerite (Edwige Feyer) has been in a mental hospital for 35 years, where she went after the release of a film about her, in which she was brought out by a real collaborationist, but where her role in saving many Jewish families was completely suppressed, which was the money for her concerts. Moreover, the film itself was made with her money, which was received from her then lover, who made this film. And now Julien has been collecting copies of the film for many years and trying to get the rights and negatives that the producers demand from him, and only at the end it turns out that all this time both the rights and negatives belonged to Marguerite herself, i.e. her son, the contract for ownership was forged after Marguerite got into a mental hospital. And the owner was considered his mistress, the daughter of the same director, who owns a chain of cinemas, but she was not aware. But her scumbag brother, snatching money from her for drugs, stops at nothing to get the money he needs, goes on crimes, up to murder. Julien has a loyal assistant Rocco (Sergio Castellito), however, his loyalty will be somewhat shaken by the end, and then appears Lulu (Ingred Held). During the film, we observe the behavior of representatives of the cinema, decent people there can be counted on fingers, people decry and lie at every step. Julien himself is not very moral, but he really loves his mother. As a result, he will probably be able to make the film, but his mother will not see it. I can not say that the series is outstanding, I watched out of pure curiosity, I will not recommend, especially since it is difficult to find on the network. But the actors were good, which somewhat smoothes out some script misses. Very interesting actress Ingrid Held, who starred a little in the movies, left it, now she is an art critic.
