Once somewhere caught the eye of a film by Italian director Michele Picchi, whose name I have not heard, with a completely unfamiliar actor Marco Iannone in the title and such an enticing title “Diary of a Successful Maniac”, and I watched it yesterday. The film was quite pleasant, although there is nothing particularly original about it. This is a monologue (diary!) of the main character - an unsuccessful artist who is in a creative crisis and lives alone in the attic, which he inherited from his father. He's not an embittered loser, he's just an undergrown fantasist, so pretty positive, kind, trouble-free, smiling, but unlucky. He is friends with his little niece, for whom he sometimes plays the role of a babysitter, but among adults he has no friends. Unpleasant thoughts often come to mind, but indecision does not allow them to be implemented. That's how it goes, while... It's a happy ending, it's a comedy.
