Cognitive boredom Being a great lover of history, twice began to watch this 'masterpiece' - and threw, but finally overpowered, thanks to the awakened interest in a particular era.
Yeah. At least half of the episodes, the authors are stupidly squandering the textbook - without imagination, without inspiration and without trying to create characters, which is especially bad for the series. Of course, the main plus 'Carlos' is his cognitive ability: shows all the main ' players' of that time. But the show, unfortunately, is not very interesting! It is clear that the creators tried to be as close to the story as possible - but at the same time they clearly neglected the little things & #39, from which a whole and exciting picture is created. So many years, so many characters, what good is it if almost no one is remembered in the end? No gossip, historical anecdotes, even the most reliable ones were used. In general, humor in the series is very tight, except for 1-2 moments. As with battle scenes (there are practically none of them), and even with love romance (although the authors try to squeeze a tear out of the viewer, how can they achieve their goal if all these countless suffering women are terribly similar to each other?!). In my opinion, it would be better to compromise the accuracy and not show the whole crowd of people, but build a normal plot. I just can’t imagine how not entangled in constantly appearing and dying (often in their bed to dreary music) heroes those who know history poorly.
For me, the series was partly animated by Francis I (unfortunately, such a charismatic and colorful king is shown, in addition to ' Carlos', only in a couple of films - and then briefly - so I am grateful for his active presence as an antagonist). But by the end, he was visibly depressed.
Just out of interest in the era, I give a pretty high rating.
