Looking through the VKontakte tape, where I have all the news related only to the cinema, I saw Steven Soderbergh’s film Laundry, 2019, about which I just read an article in the Art of Cinema, and decided to see, especially since the quality was good, the names of Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman and Antonio Banderas also attracted attention. I will immediately say that the film is not among the most exciting or funny, although it was announced as a comedy, the plot, frankly, for an amateur, because it tells about the so-called “Panama dossier”, when more than 11.5 million files were made public due to the hacking of the database of the Mossack Fonseca law firm. The source of the leak is still unknown, who was not blamed for it. Moreover, Jürgen Mossack and Ramon Fonseca themselves escaped with a slight scare in the form of three months in prison. The film is made in the form of several novels, which tell several stories - from one insured event to what methods are used by crooks, which are organized by offshore companies. It’s good to have at least a little understanding of the terminology and basic concepts, otherwise the film may seem rather boring to some. In the end, a disappointing conclusion is drawn - the cause of crooks lives and thrives not only in the so-called offshore zones, but also in America itself. I will not recommend everyone to watch, only for those who are interested in this topic, I did not look without interest.
