First of all, this is a large-scale, slightly cold canvas, for which the details of the story are not important, but the fact of its course.
“Roma” is designed in black and white style, contains incredibly beautiful scenes, and Cuaron himself again masterfully handles long plans, shadows and textures. A symbolic representation of how small the tragedy of the family is in total. "(c)
The intimacy of Rome is of the same kind as that of Bergman’s Fanny and Alexander, Fellini’s Amarkord, or Nabokov’s Other Shores, and it is born not from literal memories, but from a childish sense of magic, these memories coloring.

Reg. Cuaron was awarded the Golden Lion in Venice.
Something with the annotation for the film is not that: either not the whole film was shown, or the annotation was written by a person who did not see the film.

Good picture. Simple and complex. Ordinary people with their own complicated problems. But as told.. .
Everything is calm, even in periods of great tension: betrayal, the birth of a dead child, the rescue of drowning children ... And in between, the usual domestic work and the interests of domestic workers from an Indian village in a major city are shown.

Despite difficulties and great troubles, members of the middle-class family, including the servants, love each other and especially children, come to each other’s aid without lectures and selflessly.
I personally lacked color in the picture: such luxurious landscapes remained in black and white “performance”. In my opinion, this is the only drawback.
